Letter from a Female Guard at a Forced Labor Camp

(Clearwisdom) This is a letter a policewoman wrote to me during my medical parole. I met her in a forced labor camp.

In the beginning, although she did not mistreat us [Falun Gong practitioners] like some other officers did, neither did she appreciate us. She would constantly interrupt our practices and take away our Falun Gong books and articles.

As we became familiar with each other, we began to tell her our stories from cultivation and practice. I also talked about my understanding of Dafa and encouraged her to read Falun Gong books. Gradually her attitude changed. When we practiced the exercises, she would watch quietly and not intervene.

After August of 2001, more and more Falun Gong practitioners refused to sign guarantee statements [to stop practicing Falun Gong] and yet increasing numbers were released with dignity. I encouraged her to contact those practitioners that were released. One day, she brought her 11-year-old son to the camp. She told me that she and her son had begun to practice and cultivate Falun Dafa. They both felt the benefits already. Later she often contacted practitioners. She also tried her best to protect and support practitioners at work.

As such, Dafa changed her whole life. The following is her letter.

How are you?

Got your letter today. I am overjoyed. Congratulations on your safe return home.

Time flies. Two years have gone by. You have endured such great pressure here and now you have made it. I truly admire your firm resolve.

Thanks to Dafa, we met and became friends. I missed the time we were together. I am sorry I didn't do enough to help you.

Before, I had a correct understanding and the right attitude towards Dafa. I think I belong to the "average people." [Who like Dafa but did not cultivate diligently] Since over a half year ago, I have changed a lot. I will treasure the valuable time. I appreciate your care and concern. Although your letter is short, it says volumes about your expectations and good wishes. I understand it clearly.

While I was reading your letter this afternoon, Mr. Y (a former practitioner who deviated from Dafa) also saw it. I told him: "A human being should have a righteous heart. It is good enough to be honest with your conscience." I believe that everyone is positioning himself for the future.

Take care yourself and get well soon. Next summer, I will see you in Beijing if I have a chance. I hope we will treat each other like sisters. Say hello to your brother and niece for me.

Wish you all well and the best in achieving consummation in cultivation soon.
