City of Bowen, Queensland of Australia Proclaimed January 11, 2002 as Falun Dafa Day

Practitioners held celebration activity in a park in Bowen. We started the day in the early morning by first sending forth righteous thoughts and a short group Fa study.

There were already a few people there as we were setting up. One of the ladies, Wendy, was very interested in learning Falun Gong.

As two of the practitioners were demonstrating the exercises, a man came up and asked one of the practitioners what was going on. A practitioner replied, "Exercises." The man stood watching for a while and then said, "Very spiritual." As the practitioners began the fifth exercise, he sit down on the grass, pulled his legs into lotus position and tried to follow the movements. Then he commented on China having a very ancient civilisation.

Wendy and Bill then learned the exercises and both were very keen. Councillor Bill Deluca paid a visit just before Wendy and Bill were going to take a practitioner to the library to donate books and a video. Councillor Deluca spent some time with us and was very supportive. We gave him the Councillor's package. He offered to pass the "Justice for Falun Dafa" video on to the Mayor and speak to him about Falun Dafa.

Many local residents showed up at the park and inquired information of Falun Gong.
