Practitioners Chen Yutao and Wang Zhaohui Brutally Tortured in Huanxiling Forced Labor Camp in Jilin City, Jilin Province

Chen Yutao is a TV Program Director in Jilin City. After being illegally detained at Jilin City No. 3 and 4 Detention Centers for more than 9 months, Chen Yutao was arrested by Chuanying District police and sent to Huanxiling Forced Labor Camp to serve a two-year sentence on September 25, 2001.

On the afternoon of September 25, right after Chen Yutao arrived in the labor camp and was assigned to Team No. 2 of Brigade No. 2, he was shocked with electric batons, beaten and kicked for 3 hours by a group of policemen headed by Sun Qiuwei (phone number: 86-432-2218686). Finally, they handcuffed him and sent him to a strictly controlled unit - Unit No. 3. In the following two months, they forced him to sit on a wood board from 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. each day. They would extend the sitting for another hour each time they found him talking. On November 14, the team leader, Sun Qiuwei, forced him to stand for nearly 4 hours in the name of talking to him. The standing, in addition to the long-term sitting, caused back pain and dizziness. After he went back to Unit 3 with assistance, he vomited. He sat for a while but could not hold his body up, so he lied down. He was not able to stand again. He went through physical examinations twice, and his condition was discovered to be worse each time. Later, he could not turn his body without help. He could not eat normally due to nausea and headaches. He could only have soup and vomited soon after. On December 13, barely alive, Chen Yutao was finally sent to a hospital after one month of suffering. His current situation is unknown.

According to what we have learned, some practitioners were shocked with 6 electric batons for an entire afternoon, and some were put in an electric chair. The scenes of torture were terrifying to watch. A labor camp section chief ordered inmates to treat Dafa practitioners in many inhuman ways. The practitioners were not allowed to see visitors and forced to sit from 5 o'clock in the morning to 10 o'clock in the evening. Except for having a meal or going to the restroom, they were not allowed to leave their beds during this period. They ordered Chen Yutao to stay on his bed at all times, including having meals and relieving himself on his bed. However, the inmates did not follow the guards' instructions. The police told the inmates who were in charge of distributing food to intentionally give Dafa practitioners less food and not even giving them any other inmates' leftover food. The inmates were shocked by how ruthless the guards were. In the future, some inmates with righteous thoughts will expose the police's evil conduct with what they witnessed and prove what we have described here. The police in the labor camp not only ruthlessly treated Dafa practitioners, but also mistreated other inmates by collecting money without any sound reason and cursing them.

On August 8, 2001, a plain-clothes policeman from Division 1 of Jilin City Police Department followed practitioner Wang Zhaohui. Wang was arrested without any cause. His personal belongings including a cell phone, car and 6,300 Yuan cash were illegally confiscated. Since he did not cooperate with the corrupt police, they forcefully handcuffed and shackled him, and detained him at Chuanying District Police Department. After two days of interrogation, they still did not get anything from him. On August 10, he was illegally sent to Yongji County Detention Center. There, he was again interrogated. On August 14, after being on hunger strike for 14 days, he was sent to Huanxiling Forced Labor Camp to serve an illegal sentence of three years of forced labor. From the day he arrived at the labor camp, he has suffered inhuman tortures but he remained firm and unshakeable.

For refusing to be shackled, Wang Zhaohui was beaten up by Chi Yuanli from the City Police Department. Since he did not cooperate with the evil and said nothing during an interrogation, the police beat him and kept him from sleeping or resting. They handcuffed him to the door in a small cell, forcing him stand a whole night and half a day. He was then handcuffed to an iron chair for a night, not being able to move at all.

When he was on hunger strike in the detention center, more than 10 people pushed him down and used a homemade funnel to force-feed him three times.

On August 24, when he first arrived at the labor camp, they performed a physical examination. His heart and blood pressure were abnormal, so the labor camp refused to accept him. However, the city police department insisted that the labor camp take him. When Wang Zhaohui entered the guards' office. They greeted him with ridicule, laughter and curses. They handcuffed his hands behind his back, and beat and cursed him the whole afternoon in trying to force him to write a statement. When Wang Zhaohui was sitting on the floor with two arms handcuffed to the back, guard Xu Xuejin repeatedly stomped on his shoulders. As a result, Wang Zhaohui lost the ability to move or raise his two arms for two weeks. Guard Wang Xuyou used an electric baton to threaten Wang Zhaohui, but that did not work either. They prepared a single bed in Unit No. 3 for Wang Zhaohui and instructed other inmates to watch him closely. The inmates kept him sitting up straight the whole day, not allowing him to move. They harassed him each day with beatings and other punishment. These abuses generated a lot of mental damage and pressure. He also suffered physically from high blood pressure. In the beginning, Wang Zhaohui was not allowed to see his family members when they came to visit him. Later, he was allowed to see them after they sought help from an acquaintance. However, he was still not allowed to accept anything from his family. On the morning of December 18, a motorcade came from the Provincial Government. All Dafa practitioners were ordered to pack up and transferred to Jiutai Labor Camp.
