A practice site in a southern city resumed group Fa study on January 6, 2002.
It was a vital experience for practitioners in this city to step forward, catch
up with the process of Teacher's Fa-rectification and upgrade their levels
together in cultivation practice. It also greatly advanced the launching of
collective Fa-rectification in this city. á
[Beijing City] Sending Forth Righteous Thoughts on Jingshui Bridge á
While sitting on Jingshui Bridge, I made up my mind to help Teacher rectify
the Fa in Beijing and send forth righteous thoughts. I believed deep in my heart
that it was part of my vow in prehistoric times. á
It was a day in September when I went to rectify the Fa in Beijing. With only
one thought on my mind, I sat in the meditation posture and send forth the
righteous thoughts for five minutes on Jingshui Bridge. The whole process of my
going to Beijing went so smoothly. The policemen in uniform and the plainclothes
policemen were shuttling back and forth at Tiananmen Square; however, I didn't
even feel a bit of interference. I crossed my legs to the full lotus position in
perfect, sacred composure, held my right hand vertically in front of my chest,
and began to send forth boundless righteous thoughts towards the human world,
the heavens and the cosmos from Jinghui Bridge. á

Several days ago, the new Express Railway had a test run in X City. Many
provincial and local officers attended the test run ceremony. The most
impressive sight to them during the event were the banners announcing,
"Falun Dafa is good!" "Falun Dafa is righteous!" throughout
the railway station. Later on, when one of the officers spoke with his friends,
he sighed, "This is because Jiang's regime has pressured people too hard.
Falun Gong is really something!" From his words, his resentment towards
Jiang and his praise of Falun Gong practitioners were obvious. á
[Beijing City] Beijing Public Security Bureau Detention Center Has Secretly
Detained Many Dafa Disciplesá
Dafa disciple Han Yingli, female, 27 years old from the city of Changchun
mysteriously disappeared after she went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa
around February of 2001. Several months later, officers from the State Security
Bureau went to her work place to inquire about her personal information. The
company refused to answer questions about her present situation. Not long ago,
her family members had learned through many sources that Han Yingli is being
illegally detained in Beijing Public Security Bureau Detention Center (located
at Side Door of No.44, Banbu Bridge, Xuanwu Area, Beijing). When her family
members went to see her with some money and necessities, the policemen in the
detention center refused to provide any information and declared openly,
"Falun Gong people are detained in a secret place at present. No contact
with the outside is allowed." They even tried to take back the proof from
her family members that she was detained there. á
It has been discovered that Beijing Public Security Bureau Detention Center
detain prisoners there for Department 7 (a department specially responsible for
big and important cases) of Beijing Public Security Bureau. According to many
sources, Beijing Public Security Bureau Detention Center detains many Dafa
disciples there in secrecy at present. These disciples were all arrested
secretly and are being detained without a set term. Most disciples who went to
Beijing to appeal during the "two conferences" held in 2001 are
illegally detained there. á

Brainwashing
It is said that the No. 2 brigade of the Shijiazhuang Labor Camp has adopted
a new strategy for brainwashing: They let all of "collaborators" [former
practitioners who turned against Dafa due to the persecution; in this case, most
of them are males] talk to practitioners so as to brainwash them, putting
huge pressure on their thoughts and mental states in an attempt to force them to
give up their belief in Dafa. Some practitioners find it unbearable and their
spirits are nearly destroyed.
Recently, the Shijiazhuang Labor Camp received retribution frequently. The
original superintendent Wu Yuliang, commissar Wang Binfang, and a policeman from
No. 1 brigade were punished according to the law.

[Sichuan Province] Four Practitioners Suffer Brutal Persecution in the Chendu
Detention Center
In Chendu Detention Center No. 1 (recently relocated to Bi County), there are
four Dafa practitioners (they did not give their names in the jail) who were
nicknamed "No-Name 1," "No-Name 2," "No-Name 3,"
and "No-Name 4." As soon as they start to practice, they are attacked
by policemen. For example, the police cuffed their feet and hands together with
a "Dragon Cape"[a torture instrument]. They wore this for over
thirty days. They were also beaten cruelly, and one of them was given a
concussion. She lost consciousness for four to five days. Practitioners reported
this to the police, but the police did not care. Even under such rampant
persecution by beings without human nature, the four practitioners maintain
their rock-solid faith. They have been detained for more than 30 days.
[Hebei Province] Ren Guiping Is Arrested Despite Her Innocence
On the night of December 28, 2001, police from the Tongyan police station,
Luquan City, Hebei Province broke into practitioner Ren Guiping's home and took
her away by force. It is likely that she is being held in a detention center or
a brainwashing class.
[Hebei Province] Police from Gaoyi County Abduct Dafa Practitioners
On the night of December 28, 2001, police from Gaoyi police department
abducted four practitioners: Wang Qiaoping (female), Liu Zhiying (female), Zhang
Guorong, and Wang Xianjun. The police also ransacked their homes. Now, three of
them are on a hunger strike to protest this illegal treatment.
[Hebei Province] Urgent Appeal: Release Excellent Teacher, Geng Meiying, in
Wuji County
Geng Meiying, female, 58 years old is a retired teacher from the Jiaotou Town
Primary School in Wuji County, Hebei Province. Since July 20, 1999, in order to
let the people of the world know the truth about Falun Dafa, she sent
truth-clarifying materials to the county government. The corrupt officials were
very angry and shocked; they detained Gen Meiying for half a month. After she
went home, police went to her home to harass her frequently. This year on
December 16 Geng was arrested after she sent Dafa materials to a fellow
practitioner. The Wuji Police Department sent her to the Jin County detention
center. Geng has an 80-year-old mother and a disabled husband at home and now
there is no one to take care of them.

immediate release of innocent practitioner Geng Meiying.

Town, Heilongjiang Province is a Willing Participant in the Persecution of Falun
Dafa Practitioners
Sun Yu, the Party Secretary of the town of Ningyuan in Heilongjiang Province
has organized a special committee of ten members to persecute Falun Dafa
practitioners. They sent people to be stationed in Tiananmen Square to arrest
practitioners who went to Beijing to appeal. They even forced practitioners to
pay for the expenses that they incurred while stationed in Beijing. They have
illegally arrested several practitioners and sent them to forced labor camps.
Also, to this day they still have not allowed Dafa practitioners to leave their
homes. The practitioners are not even allowed to go visit their relatives or
family members.
[Daxing County, Beijing] Daxing County in Beijing Very Viciously Uses
Prisoners to Persecute Dafa Practitioners
Daxing County in Beijing persecutes Falun Dafa practitioners by inciting the
common prisoners to torture them by forcing them to sit without their pants on
while leaning back against wire fencing. While in this position, the
practitioners are not allowed to raise their heads. The male guards go from cell
to cell to monitor the practitioners. If they find the practitioners practicing
the exercises, they will have the practitioners' hands and feet bound. Four
guards were on duty back-to-back around the clock and did not allow the
practitioners to sleep. Some of the practitioners did not give in even when
their bodies were festering all over from the torture and the inhumane living
conditions.
[City of Changchun, Jilin Province] Nanguan District Court of City of
Changchun, Jilin Province Will Unjustly Bring 13 Dafa Practitioners to Trial
The Nanguan District Court in the city of Changchun will bring about 13
practitioners including Lu Yan, Wang Hongge and Liu Zhe to trial on January 16,
2001. We hope people everywhere will express concern for this matter.
[Baotou City, Inner Mongolia] Persecution in Baotou City
Dafa practitioners Cheng Jianyong, Ren Junsheng, Zhou Zelin of Baotou City,
Inner Mongolia were unlawfully sentenced for refusing to give up Falun Dafa.
[Shenzhen, Guangdong Province] Shenzhen Labor Camp No. 2 in Guangdong
Province Unlawfully Detains over 50 Falun Dafa Practitioners
Shenzhen Labor Camp No. 2 has unlawfully detained over 50 Dafa practitioners
at a location in Shenzhen Longhua. In this labor camp, the "610
Office" [an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with
absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other
political and judiciary systems]severely persecutes Falun Dafa
practitioners. Some practitioners have been sentenced here for three years. The
details of this situation are currently being investigated.
[Hulan County, Heilongjiang Province] Prisoners in Hulan County Labor Camp
No. 2 in Heilongjiang Province Show Repentence after Receiving Retribution for
Cooperating with the Persecution
Before the Spring Festival in 2001, the Hulan County Public Security Bureau
arrested a great number of Falun Dafa practitioners. In the labor camp, a
prisoner named Gao Sanmao of the 7th squad in Hulan Labor Camp No. 2
actively participated in the persecution of practitioners. He had a special
hatred for the practitioners who refused to reveal their names, and beat them up
very severely. However, he learned his lesson when he received instant
retribution for assisting the force-feeding of Dafa practitioner Li Peng. The
practitioner was bound to the back of an iron chair with a chain and was
forced-fed with a tube going down to his stomach. When Gao Sanmao tried to
assist by pressing down Li Peng's head, he fell down and lost consciousness as
he hit the ground. He has not dared to help the tyrants do evil ever since.
[Fusong County, Jilin Province] Nine Practitioners from Fusong Town, Fusong
County, Jilin Province Are Arrested
Nine practitioners from the town of Fusong in Jilin County including Zhang
Xiushang, Li Zhongyun, Meng Qingling (female) and Li Zhengfang (female) have
been arrested. Furthermore, four centers for creating Dafa materials and
literature were shut down.
[City of Wuhan, Hubei Province] A Materials Center on Yongqing Street,
Hankou, City of Wuhan Is Destroyed
It was reported that on Yongqing Street, Hankou, in the city of Wuhan, a copy
machine and truth-clarifying materials were confiscated from a practitioner's
home. Several practitioners were also arrested.
[Urumqi, Xinjiang] Evil Deeds of the Villians in Urumqi Xinjiang
The director of the Tianshan Public Security Bureau in Urumqi Xinjiang, Li
Xiaoyu; the leaders of the Political and Security Team and the National Security
team, Zhang Enyuan, Li Yuguang, Bi Weqiang; police officers BaiYang, Yang Tao,
Cheng Xueli, Yang Shusheng, Zhang Jinlong, Ma Shujun and police officers
surnamed Ren, Liu and Meng extracted confessions from practitioners by inhumanly
torturing them before locking them up in the detention centers, labor camps and
jails. They also illegally ransacked the practitioners' homes and confiscated
their valuables. They reported only a very small portion of the property such as
cash, deposits and debit cards and kept the remainder of the confiscated
belongings for themselves.
