Persecution Suffered by Falun Dafa Practitioners in Muleng City, Heilongjiang Province

Policemen in Muleng City have once again arrested and imprisoned Falun Dafa practitioners Ms. Shen Jing'e and Ms. Song Xiuyu

At 7.30 p.m. on November 28, 2001, Muleng City Politics and Security Division Chief Kong Qingzeng drove five to six policemen to Shen Jinge's home in a police vehicle. They forced their way into Ms. Shen's home without showing any arrest warrant or giving any cause. Three to four of them forcefully dragged Shen into the police vehicle. Her neighbors were indignant, condemning the criminal acts of these lawless policemen. Because Shen loudly yelled for help, the police officers beat her violently inside the vehicle. Shen's mother, an elderly lady in her sixties or seventies, in an attempt to save her daughter, desperately rushed towards the police vehicle and grabbed the rearview mirror. The policemen still drove away, with the mother clinging to the mirror. The police vehicle dragged the old lady along for quite a while before it stopped. Several policemen pulled the old lady away from the vehicle and pushed her down to the roadside. Then the police vehicle drove off and carried away Ms. Shen.

At about 8 p.m., Kong Qingzeng led policemen to practitioner Song Xiuyu's home and forcefully took her away in the same way as Ms. Shen.

Song Xiuyu, female, 60 years old, is a retired teacher from Muleng City's No. 3 Middle School.

Shen Jing'e, female, 41 years old, is a nurse at Muleng City Hospital. Before practicing Falun Gong, she had previously suffered from breast cancer, which later turned into lymph node and cervical cancer. The hospital had given her a "death sentence." However, a miracle happened after she practiced Falun Gong, and in the subsequent several years she has enjoyed a healthy life. People in this small town all know her story of how Falun Dafa gave her a second life.

Many times in the past two years, Song Xiuyu and Shen Jing'e went to Beijing to peacefully appeal for Falun Dafa, handing out truth-clarifying materials to people. They were arrested several times, and their homes were often ransacked. The women were also illegally sentenced to labor camp. Because Ms. Shen practiced the Falun Gong exercises in Mudanjiang City's Sidao Labor Camp, her pants were forcefully pulled down and her naked lower body exposed. In prison, Song and Shen and other Falun Gong practitioners went on several hunger strikes. They were force-fed through tubes incorrectly inserted, resulting in severe bleeding from their noses and mouths. The authorities released them only when they were in serious condition. Song was forced to pay a fine of several thousand Yuan. Ms. Shen was forced to put on the heaviest shackles, which are not even used on criminals on death row.

On January 10, 2002, Muleng City Dafa practitioners Guo Lianyun (female, 61 years old), Zhang Aiqin (female), Zhou Zhirong (female) and a seven-year-old child were reported to the authorities by Wang Yanbo, the head of Xing'an Village (also called Laoniucao Village) in Muleng. At about 10:00 p.m, policemen from Muleng's Nanjie Police Station forcefully took away these four people from Zhou Zhirong's home and brought them to Nanjie Police Station. At the police station, Zhou Zhirong and Zhang Aiqin were brutally beaten. Currently, Guo Lianyun, Zhang Aiqin and Zhou Zhirong are illegally detained in Muleng City Detention Center.

Female Dafa practitioner Gao is 55 years old, living in Sanxing Village, Hexi Township, Muleng City. When she visited Beilinzi Village in Muleng, someone reported her to the government authorities for exposing the truth about the persecution against Falun Gong to local villagers. Officers from Muleng Township's Police Station brutally beat her and then sent her to the local detention center. At the detention center, she was tortured severely. A big clump of hair was pulled out from her head. Bruises covered her eyes, mouth, face, and all over her body.

Practitioners who are being illegally detained in Muleng City Detention Center include Song Xiuyu, Shen Jing'e, Zhang Aiqin, Guo Lianyun, Zhou Zhirong, Gao Kui, Gao Xuehui (Gao Kui's daughter), Sun Shiwei (male) and Ms. Gao (an older lady from Sanxing Village, Hexi Township). Currently, they are on a hunger strike to protest the criminal acts against Dafa practitioners by enforcers from the police departments and the "610 Office," [an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems] and also to protest against the illegal detention and torture of practitioners. Some of the practitioners have been on this hunger strike for over two weeks.

We urgently appeal to all kind-hearted people in the world to pay attention to this matter and bring an end to the senseless persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners in Muleng City. We demand the unconditional release of all detained practitioners.
