1. Eliminating the Attachment of Fear, Clarifying the Truth in an Open and Noble Manner

On January 9, 2002, I boarded a bus for Beijing with my father. He is a non-practitioner who knows that Falun Dafa is good. Our trip was to visit my uncles and relatives thousands of miles away and to tell the truth about Falun Dafa to them. I had with me VCDs containing truth clarifying information, a mini VCD player, audiocassettes, information leaflets, etc. We met a lady in her 30s on the bus. Her younger brothers and sisters had come to see her off. I thought to offer salvation to her and her relatives. As I had just read Teacher's article, "Fa-Lecture at the Conference in Florida" before leaving home, I had some understanding of Teacher's words, "Suppose an ordinary, everyday person who isn't a Dafa disciple tells another everyday person, 'Don't persecute Falun Gong,' and tells him in what ways Falun Gong is good, and from that point on the other person really stops persecuting Falun Gong; after he makes up for what he did, it's quite possible he'll enter the future, and it's possible that he'll obtain the Fa when the Fa rectifies the human world; and since his being came from a high place he'll be able to cultivate quickly, so because his Consummation is directly related to the person who told him about the truth back then, even that ordinary, everyday person, I think, will reach Consummation. You see the idea, right?" I thought to myself that our meeting today was also predestined.

The heart of wanting to clarify the truth to these sentient beings overwhelmed me and restrained my previous notions that had caused me to fear clarifying the truth to people whenever I carried truth clarifying materials. I started to chat with her, and found out that she had an elder sister who works in a notorious forced labour camp, which detained a great number of Dafa Disciples. I asked her, "Do you understand what Falun Gong is?" I told her that I am a practitioner, and that what's shown on TV were staged dramas. She questioned, "Why would the National TV want to deceive people?" I then told her that Dafa's principles are Zhen-Shan-Ren (Truth Compassion Forbearance). Dafa teaches people to purify their hearts, and enables them to change themselves to become good people. I told her that Dafa students always consider others first, and look inwards when facing any conflict. I also used real life examples of health improvement cases of practitioners around me to tell her that Falun Dafa is good. I told her how Falun Dafa is the most basic law of the universe. I let her know that those who are against Dafa will bring terrible consequences upon themselves and that the people who are forced into participating in this persecution are being used as scapegoats. I asked her to tell her sister not to mistreat Dafa practitioners. In the end, she understood. I felt happy for her from the bottom of my heart.

Gradually more people boarded the bus, and I thought, "how can I help them know the truth?" When the bus stopped for lunch, the owner of a restaurant came up to the bus looking for customers for his business. I started chatting with him. He said that the social condition is changing, and that nowadays stealing and robbery are all too frequent. I told him that this kind of phenomena is caused by the decline of human morality, and from there I brought up the subject of Falun Gong. I clarified the truth to him, and everybody on the bus. I did not have even the slightest fear in my heart, only the wish to let them know about the truth. I told them that the "self-immolation" was a staged drama, and that the "killing family relatives" was also a propaganda piece. I told them to remember that Falun Dafa is good, and that remembering this in the future would bring them tremendous blessings.

After lunch the journey resumed, and my heart was full of gratitude to Teacher for arranging this truth clarifying opportunity for me, and the opportunity to safeguard Dafa. There were quite a few policemen boarding the train along the way, but I never had any fear. I had already experienced first hand that "if a cultivator can let go of the thought of life and death under any circumstances, evil will of itself no longer exist. All of you are already aware of the principle of mutual-generation and mutual-inhibition. If you are not afraid, the factor that would make you afraid will become non-existent." (Eliminate Your Last Attachments) Even more deeply I was able to appreciate Dafa's extraordinary profoundness. Father had been worrying for me all the way; his heart was only able to calm down after we reached the destination.

2. Eliminating the Attachment of Competitiveness and Saving Family Relatives With Righteous Thoughts

After a nine hour journey, we arrived at uncle's home. My uncle (father's elder brother) has been a Party member for 40-50 years, and is quite stubborn with his notions. This made clarifying the truth to him more difficult. His career and competitive nature throughout his life had shaped his rather hot-tempered character, leaving him in ill health now. So I chose to start clarifying the truth by talking from the perspective of illness and health, during which I was also continuously sending forth righteous thoughts to clear away the evil factors interfering with him seeing the truth. We chatted till past 11:00 p.m. before retiring to rest. Uncle changed. He even had a brief look through Zhuan Falun.

Yet on the second evening, he started to argue with me when I tried to further clarify the truth to him. He was not willing to listen to me, so my effort was brought to a stop. I realized that there were evil factors at play controlling him from behind the scene, so I sent forth righteous thoughts and eliminated them. Before going to sleep that night, I looked inwards to examine myself and found that human notions and sentiment, as well as the heart of competitiveness also existed within me. Therefore, evil was able to find a loophole and cause interference. I came with an attachment of wanting to persuade them, letting them know that Falun Dafa is good. I used human sentiment, thinking that I am their family, a university graduate, and having the highest level of education among my relatives. They would surely listen to me. Such a heart of pursuit had affected the result of my efforts in clarifying the truth. In this process, I could see my attachment to competitiveness being exposed once again. Teacher taught us in Zhuan Falun, "To tell you the truth, the entire cultivation process for a practitioner is one of constantly giving up human attachments."

Before we left uncle's home, I bid him to take good care of his health. Uncle thanked me gratefully, and said, "Don't you worry. Though I argued with you, I know what I must do."

I asked him to remember the words " Falun Dafa is Good." He nodded and smiled. I, too, smiled.

3. Eliminating Human Notions and Not Leaving a Single Predestined Person Behind when Clarifying the Truth

I had a wish before arriving at uncle's place, which was to clarify the truth to my grandfather. Grandpa is already over 90 years old. When I saw him I was disappointed, he had been paralysed by a cerebral haemorrhage. Now he is confined to bed, unable to take care of himself. Most importantly, his consciousness is unclear. Grandpa did not recognise me, nor father. His mind is sometimes clear, sometimes blank. I therefore gave up on the idea of clarifying the truth to him. I busily occupied myself clarifying the truth to uncles, aunts, and cousins. Very quickly they understood the truth, knowing that Falun Dafa is being persecuted. One of my cousins works for the Public Security Bureau, and was deeply affected by the lies. In the beginning, when I clarified the truth to him, he was not willing to listen. I continuously sent forth righteous thoughts while explaining to him patiently. Falun Dafa teaches people to become good persons. Jiang ruthlessly persecutes innocent civilians out of selfish motivations. Falun Dafa is transmitting widely across the world in many countries. Finally, he believed me. His wife and daughter also came to understand the truth, and he even read the materials I gave him.

Before leaving uncle's home, the whole family knew the truth, except grandfather. When I went to his room to say goodbye, grandpa suddenly said to me, "Can you save me?" My heart trembled at these words, I hurriedly said, "Yes Grandpa, Yes I can. You wait here." I held up the treasured book Zhuan Falun in front of him, and opened it up to show him the picture of Teacher. I said to him, "This Teacher is most kind! He can save all good people." Grandpa quickly replied, "I did not do anything bad in this life." Born in a poor family, Grandpa had had a harsh time in his youth. Also, he'd been a quiet person, never hurting anybody in his life. Now in old age, he is suffering from such illness. I suddenly enlightened: all of grandpa's suffering in his life had been for today, so that he could learn about Falun Dafa. I started to teach him word by word: "Fa-Lun-Da-Fa-Hao (Falun Dafa is good)." After repeating a number of times, I saw that it was too difficult for him to remember so many words, so I taught him to say: "Da-Fa-Hao" (Dafa is good)." Grandpa followed after me, saying: "Da--Fa--Hao." Grandpa's words made my eyes fill with tears. He had waited with much suffering for these words, more than 90 years, and he had almost missed out due to one wrong thought of mine. When I returned to the living room, "Fa-Lun-Da-Fa-Hao" was sounding from grandpa's room. Over 10 family members in the living room were all moved by this, it was really a miracle! Grandpa could say five words together "Fa-Lun-Da-Fa-Hao." I knew that it was due to the power of Dafa. I told the whole family, that Grandpa would definitely have a beautiful future. I was feeling happy for grandpa and happy for myself for not leaving with any regrets.

Thinking of grandpa on the return journey, I still continued to shed tears. At the same time I deeply sensed the great responsibilities Dafa disciples shoulder. We must change people's notions during the process of clarifying the truth, so that we do not leave a single predestined being behind. So many people still need to be saved. Fellow practitioners, we must grab every opportunity, make use of all our time, remove our attachments to leisure and comfort. Everyday people say that time is money. Dafa disciples now know that time is life! Lets try our best to go clarify the truth, try our best to leave with no regrets.

During mid-November 2001, I went to the country-side with a fellow practitioner to distribute truth-clarifying flyers. We distributed over 600. We learned later on that a vet received one set of the truth clarifying materials. Now whoever goes to his office has to read it. He also tells people that Teacher Li Hongzhi is good, and Falun Dafa is good. I was very moved by this news. It will encourage me to distribute more truth materials to the hands of the predestined people.
