(Clearwisdom.net) Zhan Wei, male, born in 1970, was an employee of Post and Telecommunications Bureau of Yingcheng City in Hubei Province. He went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong during the 2001 National Day holidays, and was subsequently detained in Yingcheng City's No. 1 Detention Center in Hubei Province. To resist his persecution, Zhan Wei started a hunger strike in January of 2002. He was dehydrated after 8 days of the hunger strike and passed away at 1:39 p.m. on January 23, 2002.
