Pasadena's world famous Rose Parade draws tens of thousands of people around the world each year. People often set up camps overnight along the 4.5-mile route in order to get a good spot to see the parade. For the third straight year, practitioners of Los Angeles area passed out flyers about the persecution and collected signatures along the Rose Parade route in Pasadena on New Year's eve a couple of hours before and after midnight. This year, practitioners also staged a Walk along the route. Practitioners divided into two teams on two sides of the road. The crowds were so heavy on the sidewalks that the parade group became disconnected from time to time. But this allowed for truth clarification as people showed interest. Most of the practitioners held posters while others distributed flyers. We distributed about 20,000 flyers along the parade route during the two walks. Over 100,000 people saw our message about the persecution in China. Many people expressed their support.

On New Year's Day, practitioners again went out to the parade route to pass out flyers and clarify the truth. In addition, after the parade, about 10 practitioners gathered at Victory Park (where the Rose Parade floats are parked) to demonstrate the exercises, clarify the truth, and pass out flyers and newsletters. Practitioners kindly wished the passers-by a happy new year while they passed out the flyers. Several onlookers expressed interests in learning. Practitioners chose a spot with heavy foot and car traffic throughout the entire three hours they were there, and, judging by the reaction of the pedestrians, the practitioners' presence made a big and positive impact.

Here are some of the stories

"I like this board very much, could you sell it to me?"

About 4 pm, a middle aged gentleman came to ask a practitioner, "what does that board say?" practitioner told him that the first line is Truth-Compassion-Tolerance and the second line is Falun Dafa is Good. He said, "It is wonderful. I like this board very much, could you sell it to me?" Even though it was the only one practitioner had and she wanted to have more Chinese people to see the message, upon seeing the gentleman's sincere expression, the practitioner said, "I could give it to you. I do not want any money. It is priceless." Practitioner also gave him a VCD with Dafa truth information. He happily accepted it.

A poor old man's 45 cents

About 5pm many people coming to see the parade floats had left. A practitioner noticed an old white gentleman with shabby clothes watching the Dafa exercise demonstration attentively. The practitioner noticed he put something on the meditation pad and left with our flyers. We were happy for him that he got chance to learn about Dafa. When we were about to leave, another practitioner asked who put 45 cents there. Then we understood the old man's heart. Even though he was poor, he was still willing to help others. What a kind heart he has.
