The Requirements of Dafa Take Top Priority

During the Fa-rectification period, Dafa continuously requires higher standards of us. As particles of Dafa, we should let go of the habits and the human mentalities that we once clung to. We should continuously adjust ourselves according to the requirements of Fa-rectification.

I am a single mother of a 16 year-old son. I frequently participate in truth clarification activities, so I often didn't make it back home in time to cook the evening meal. Sometimes my son would complain to me that he was hungry as soon as I put my foot in the door. One day I thought to myself, "as the process of Fa-rectification speeds up, there are even more and greater Fa-rectification tasks before me. The requirements of Dafa take top priority. I should teach my son how to do the housework and cook dinner so he will not be so dependent on me." Two months later, my son was able to perform basic household tasks and could take care of himself and the house on his own. He no longer needed me to take care of his daily life and I had more time to concentrate on truth clarification activities. Later, my son complained, "Mum, none of my other friends have to do the amount of housework that I have to do." I said to him compassionately, "You are helping your mother do the housework so that she can concentrate on truth clarification activities. In this way, you are supporting Dafa!" My son nodded his head in agreement.

In a similar situation, it recently became necessary for me to use a computer to carry out certain necessary truth clarification work. For many years I had been reluctant to learn how to use a computer even though there was one in my home. Now it was what was required of me in order to clarify the truth of Falun Dafa, so I thought that I should learn how to use it. In the Fa-rectification, things we should do cannot be confined by concepts like "whether I like to do it or not" or "if I am used to it or not." The most important thing for us to do is to adapt ourselves to the requirements of Dafa. After realizing this, I was able to learn the basics of computer operation in a very short time.

During our cultivation, we might often face the conflicts between our habits, conventions and the requirements of Dafa. At these times, are we able to recognize that it is an opportunity for us to step out of humanness, to let go of our sense of self and treat Dafa as the first priority? If so, then we will really be able to conform to "Genuinely cultivating Dafa, the only thing that is important." ("Obtaining the Fa" in Hongyin)
