Germany: Falun Gong Practitioners Invited to Attend Press Conference Hosted by Green Party in Hamburg City Hall

(Clearwisdom.net) To celebrate the opening of China Week, Mr. Porschke, the chairman of the Green Party, German branch, hosted a press conference on September 17, 2002 at 2:00 PM, and Falun Gong practitioners were invited to attend. Through the press conference, Mr. Porschke hoped to make an appeal for groups that were oppressed in China.

Before the press conference began, participants and many journalists from news organizations all gathered in room B. Mr. Porschke spoke at the beginning of the conference, and then representatives of other groups, including the Falun Gong spokesperson, made statements.

The Falun Gong spokesperson talked about the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China, and Jiang's high-pressure tactics to extend the persecution overseas. The spokesperson also referred to the overreactions of the German police toward Falun Gong practitioners when Jiang visited Germany last April.

We would like to thank the Green Party again for their concern about human rights in China, and also send our thanks for the appeal they made for those who do not have the opportunity or freedom to speak out publicly in China. It goes without saying that what Falun Gong practitioners want is to be able to freely practice their belief.
