Proclamation of Falun Dafa Day, St. Louis, Missouri [September 30, 2002]
(Clearwisdom.net) Office of the Mayor Proclamation Whereas Falun Dafa, also known as Falun Gong, is an advanced meditation exercise of mind and
body, rooted in ancient Chinese culture; and Whereas, Falun Dafa is based on the principles of truthfulness, compassion and forbearance; and Whereas, it is a compelling discipline of exercise, meditation and study that promotes physical,
spiritual and mental health; and Whereas, Falun Dafa is non-political, is not a religion and has no binding membership. All Falun
Dafa activities are free and open to the public; and Whereas, about 600 other local governments across North America, 15 cities and countries in
Missouri, including the city of St. Louis, (in the past), have honored Falun Dafa by proclaiming
"Falun Dafa Day" or "Falun Dafa Week"; and Whereas, the city of St. Louis recognizes the practice of Falun Dafa and those who promote
improving the quality of life in positive ways for all Now, therefore, I, Francis G. Slay, Mayor of the city of St. Louis, do hereby proclaim September
30, 2002 as: "Falun Dafa Day" In the City of St. Louis In witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused to be affixed the seal of the city of
