Only By "Truly Understanding Dafa with Rationality" Can We Clarify the Truth Well

(Clearwisdom.net) After Teacher published the new article "Hurry Up And Tell Them," some practitioners understood it in a lopsided manner, and went to extremes, instead of using rationality in clarifying the truth. For example, upon reading that there's a "tell" in the article, and "it's like sharp swords shooting out together from their mouths," they believed that Teacher requires us to tell with our mouths; upon seeing the "hurry" in the article, they went to extremes to think that: now it's time to hurry up and tell with our mouths, and gave up some effective and mature methods that have been used, such as distributing materials.

Also, since Teacher lectures that "every person you come into contact with in society is someone to clarify the truth to" ("To All Students at the Nordic Fa Conference," Essentials for Further Advancement II), some practitioners willfully talked to whoever they met, without taking into consideration different circumstances, different listeners, whether a person is willing to listen, or how to make the wording more acceptable, etc. In clarifying the truth, they did not comply with Teacher's requirements of using "rationality," "wisdom" and "compassion," but simply believed that so long as they talked, it would come out good.

This type of extreme conduct made it even more difficult for other practitioners to further clarify the truth afterwards, and resulted in unnecessary losses to the overall image of Dafa and Dafa practitioners.

There are also some practitioners who, after hearing the bad people say that one could be sentenced to a jail term simply for distributing truth-clarifying material, thought with a crafty mind that if they would only talk, they would not be caught. With such impure thoughts, how could one clarify the truth well? With such strong fear, how could one's loophole not be taken advantage of by the evil?

On the human level, no matter what method one uses, or how safe one believes the methods are, they are merely human methods which are subject to manipulation by beings in other dimensions. The evils in other dimensions keep a close watch on one's mindset and one's xinxing standard. So long as one's thoughts are not pure and righteous, the evil will find an excuse for the persecution it seeks to impose, and the result will not be achieved quickly.

Of course, we should firmly negate and completely dismantle the evil's persecution. The ultimate solution, however, is to clarify the facts with pure and righteous thoughts. At the same time, we should leave no gaps in our words and conduct on the human level, and cultivate ourselves by maximally complying with the ordinary human social conditions, leaving no loopholes for the evil to utilize, which is also the safest approach.

Teacher has used great patience to tell us: "Clarifying the truth isn't a simple matter--it's not only a matter of exposing the evil. When we clarify the truth we are saving sentient beings, and at the same time it involves the matter of your own improvement and your elimination of attachments during your cultivation, and the matter of Dafa disciples being responsible to the Fa in their cultivation, as well as issues like how you fill and enrich that paradise of yours in your final Consummation. " (Quote from Guiding the Voyage: "Teaching the Fa at the Washington, D.C. International Fa Conference").

The standpoint of our clarifying the truth is to save sentient beings with compassion. However, if we do not use righteous minds, but instead hold onto some attachments, and cause the listeners to be repulsed or fearful, this is actually as good as sabotaging truth-clarification and is very irresponsible to sentient beings.

Although one's intention may be good, the result is not good. As such, the distance between everyday people and Dafa is not shortened, but increased. In clarifying the truth, we should not only pay attention to the methods, processes and quantity, but also put emphasis on the result.

Teacher also clearly tells us that: "If all Chinese Dafa students can be more mindful of their conduct in daily life, be neater, and be considerate of others in everything they do, then that's the demeanor of Dafa disciples." (Quote from "Comments on the Article 'Some Ideas From Discussions Among Students Who Have Participated in the Sit-In Appeals in Front of the Chinese Embassies and Consulates'").

"But sometimes, because we don't keep up our Fa-study, we handle things like an ordinary person in some of the things we do to spread the Fa and save sentient beings. This makes a lot of the sacred things we do not so sacred, it prevents us from doing them well, and it also causes people in society not to understand us sometimes. So it not only prevents you from improving, but also causes Dafa some losses." (Quote from "Teaching the Fa at the 2002 Fa Conference in Boston")

"Lose no time and save them" is the objective, and "hurry up and tell them" is not limited to telling with the mouth. All measures that can achieve "lose no time and save them" should be adopted.

In fact, telling the truth with the mouth is also not as simple an issue as some people might imagine. Saying what one wants to say does not mean that the truth has been clarified.

Before clarifying the truth, we should be clear about what confusions or misunderstandings the sentient beings may have. In the course of clarifying the truth, we should have strong righteous thoughts, clear minds, be skillful in persuasion and convincing, and use "rationality," "wisdom" and "compassion" to touch others' hearts to bring about their inner changes and righteous thoughts towards Teacher, Dafa and Dafa practitioners. Only then, can "lose no time and save them" be achieved.
