Renewed, Intensified Persecution in the Wanjia and Changlinzi Forced Labor Camps in Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province

(Clearwisdom.net) From September 26, 2002 to the National Day Holiday [October 1] period, each police branch and every police station in Harbin City conducted citywide searches for Dafa practitioners and harassed them. According to insiders, the majority of the Dafa practitioners whose names were on the Dongli District Police Department's blacklist were harassed. Two to five police officers suddenly entered each of those Dafa practitioner's homes between 8:00 and 11:00 in the evening. They searched around, checked to see if there were any Dafa books, Master Li's photos, or truth-clarifying flyers and CDs in the practitioners' homes. They also rudely questioned the practitioners and recorded their statements. Some practitioners were threatened into writing the "guarantee letter." [This "guarantee letter" declares that he/she will no longer go to Beijing to appeal, will no longer associate with fellow practitioners and will give up the practice of Falun Dafa]

Most of the practitioners successfully resisted this round of search and seizure and took this opportunity to clarify the truth to the police officers and validate Dafa. A few practitioners' Dafa books were forcibly taken away. It was said that the policemen brought arrest warrants with them during this operation. If they found Dafa materials, they would immediately arrest the practitioners. The Jinxiang Police Station authorities were very active in this criminal operation. Prior to that, they had already arrested a number of Dafa practitioners in the residential area belonging to the gas turbine factory. The exact number of arrested practitioners and the details about this event are not yet known. Three kidnappings have been verified: Miao Xing, Yang Shanzhang and Bian. This time, they once again went to practitioners' homes to conduct massive searches. Currently, the whereabouts of the arrested practitioners are not known.

Doing evil things will harm oneself, as the deputy head of the Jinxiang Police Station, Zang, found out too late. He suddenly died on the second day of this operation, which was September 28. It was said that he had just taken this position 3 months ago. The day before his death, he was still leading his people in person, going to ransack Dafa practitioners' homes. It was found that both of his pulmonary arteries had ruptured. He was only 30 years old.

Lately, the persecution against Dafa practitioners has further escalated in the Wanjia and Changlinzi Forced Labor Camps in Harbin City. Last August, the Wanjia Forced Labor Camp set up an administrative section and reorganized the police force. The Wanjia Forced Labor Camp has applied especially brutal means to torture Dafa practitioners, trying to force them to renounce their faith. We have heard recently that No 7 division of the Wanjia Forced Labor Camp applied an extremely cruel "tying the ropes torture."(For a detailed description of this and other forms of torture used in forced labor camps, see http://www.clearwisdom.net/emh/articles/2001/11/24/16156.html Recently, the guards of the No. 7 division once again applied this torture on all of the kidnapped practitioners.

Policemen from the Daowai District have been arresting Dafa practitioners on a large scale since September. Some practitioners who were not able to withstand the torture revealed the names of many people, which led to their arrests. Many Dafa practitioners who distributed or delivered Dafa materials have been arrested. Recently, Dafa practitioner Lu Song and his father were also arrested. There is a family in the Taiping District whom the police have particularly monitored. All of the family members have been sentenced. The practitioner Fu Guilan and his wife both were arrested, and they are now suffering persecution.

Here we urgently appeal to the United Nations and human rights organizations all over the world to provide concrete support to the Falun Gong practitioners, who are now facing harsh persecution in China. Please, help stop this cruel and evil persecution against innocent people. In the meantime, Dafa practitioners should maintain their righteous thoughts and strongly resist this evil persecution.
