Various Crimes Committed by the "Law Education School" in Maoming City of Guangdong Province

(Clearwisdom.net) The so-called "Law Education School" of Maoming City, Guangdong Province is actually a detention center for brainwashing people, where dozens of Falun Gong practitioners are being detained. Some practitioners have already been illegally imprisoned for nearly three years in various places, including detention centers and forced labor camps. Every day, practitioners are forced to watch brainwashing propaganda. Each of them is also forced to pay room and board expenses, which is 25 Yuan per day. (The average monthly income in China is about 500 Yuan.) The school also uses all kinds of cruel means to torture the practitioners.

Before the Spring Festival of 2002, practitioners went on a hunger strike to protest the cruel treatment. In order to make practitioners stay inside the school during the period of Spring Festival, the authorities made a guarantee to the practitioners that they would not interfere with their practicing the exercises and studying the Fa. In addition, the school authorities even gave a copy of Zhuan Falun to the practitioners. However, right after the Spring Festival (February 26), the school gathered over a dozen thugs to assault the practitioners. The thugs robbed the practitioners of their belongings, hung up many practitioners with handcuffs and did not give the practitioners any food or water for up to two days. Because of the brutal torture, some practitioners experienced difficulties in speaking. Some practitioners were beaten and thrown against the wall until they lost consciousness, and then the thugs poured cold water on the practitioners to make them regain consciousness.

Some practitioners were beaten so badly that their bodies became deformed and they were unable to move at all. Practitioners were beaten with punches and kicks, wooden clubs, broom handles, steel handcuffs, etc. Because of the beating, many practitioners had injuries all over their bodies. Some policemen took advantage of the body searches and indecently groped the female practitioners.

Whenever practitioners stood up to stretch out their arms or legs, they would be handcuffed and beaten up. The policemen often handcuffed the practitioners and even hung them up in such a way that practitioners' feet could not touch the floor. Furthermore, the practitioners were not even allowed to go to the restroom. Some practitioners were handcuffed outside and exposed to the burning sun for several hours. When the police were torturing the practitioners, they even used towels and tape to cover the practitioners' mouths, in order to prevent the practitioners from making any sound. Sometimes, the police handcuffed the practitioners and did not allow them to sleep; some practitioners were cuffed even after five to six days of hunger strike. Some 60- or 70-year-old practitioners were also handcuffed and dragged on the ground.

The practitioners who were injured by the brutal torture include Li Yamei, Deng Yulian, Cui Wei'e, Li Guohua, Li Yanzi, Yang Yalan, Yan Yakun, Huang Zuyu, etc. The police used electric batons, broom handles, and pipes to fiercely beat the practitioners. After the beating, the police then used their leather shoes to kick and stomp the practitioners. After Falun Gong practitioner He Langsheng lost consciousness due to the beating, the police poured cold water on his body to revive him. The police would also pour cold water on any practitioners who practiced the exercises. Then they would force the practitioners to stand outside all night, trembling in the cold. The practitioners have suffered from endless torture and humiliation. Now every day, every detained practitioner is facing the threat of being handcuffed and beaten up; even Mr. Chen and Mr. Shen, who are 60-70 years old, have not been spared from the torture. Once the practitioners were handcuffed, the handcuffs would not be taken off for at least 4-5 hours. The practitioners were even hung up there overnight, and during this period, practitioners were not allowed to use the restroom.

The school authorities often say that Falun Gong practitioners do not have rights and that there are no laws protecting the practitioners. They also said that their words are the law and that persecuting Falun Gong practitioners is the law.

In the "Law Education School", the practitioners are not allowed to write letters or make phone calls. They are not even allowed to see their visiting family members. All day long the practitioners are locked up in one room, which does not have a fan even in the hot summer. In addition, they have to pay a boarding expense of 25 Yuan every day, even though they are provided with meals that are worth only four Yuan. If practitioners cannot afford the payment, the vicious thugs ransack the practitioners' homes and take away their property. As a result, practitioners' family members are harassed constantly and cannot live normal lives. Moreover, when some practitioners lost consciousness because of their hunger strike, they would be sent to the hospital for emergency treatment. Then as soon as they regained consciousness, they would be immediately sent back to the school for further persecution.

This so-called "Law Education School" has been turned into just another place to torture Falun Gong practitioners.
