Falun Gong practitioners from China talked about their experiences of persecution to Canadian mayors and Members of Parliament: The most impressive thing to me in Canada is the freedom, democracy, and the peace that the Canadian society enjoys. While I am enjoying these I feel sorry for the practitioners who are being persecuted in China, because they are still suffering deeply. The dictator has deprived them of all their rights, taken away their properties, and put the group of ordinary citizens who cultivate "Truthfulness, Benevolence, and Forbearance" in prison, labor camps, or psychiatric hospitals. Many were tortured to death, which included an eight-month-old baby. It has become an unaffordable luxury to be a good person in China.

The journal emphasizes that China regards the media as the mouthpiece of the communist party. They use it as a tool for the power struggle among classes. Till now, they still will not allow Taiwanese reporters to be stationed permanently in China. They also blocked websites such as Google. Their main concern is that the media may spark the fire of democracy and endanger the power of the communist party. The Chinese government is controlling the media, doing whatever they wish. If Taiwanese news media were controlled by the Chinese capital, they would not be able to express themselves freely and the result would be disastrous.

Falun Gong can only be good for the country and its people. Since Jiang's regime began its persecution of Falun Gong in 1999, all sorts of disasters have happened in China. People will be punished when they offend God. What I want to tell you and all my relatives is that by all means please do not be against Falun Dafa. Please remember all the time that Falun Dafa is good.
