Three Years of Suffering Did Not Change My Firm Belief

(Clearwisdom.net) On December 2, 1999 I went to Beijing to appeal. However, it was quite unexpected that after I registered my name at the Appeals Office I was taken back to Tangshan City by the local police and was illegally held at the city's No. One Prison. I was held there for about one year. During that period, the city Public Security Bureau, the prison, my work unit and my family all exerted pressure on me and asked me to write the so-called "Guarantee Statement" to give up my belief. I told them I would never give up my firm believe in Dafa. One day when the prison authority slandered Falun Dafa at a meeting I raised my arm and shouted "Falun Dafa is good." Hundreds of people at the meeting were all stunned. My intention was to tell the people the truth about Falun Dafa.

At a meeting of the entire prison, Political Instructor Feng slandered Falun Dafa, saying that practitioners of Falun Gong were uneducated or delusional. He asked one of the practitioners about his schooling and the answer was postgraduate. Then the instructor asked me about my schooling. I said I had a patent and that my name was included in the "Dictionary of China's Contemporary Inventors." The instructor then got down off the platform and left without a word.

Life in the prison was very hard. For breakfast, we had only half a bowl of porridge made of corn flour, lunch was one piece of steamed bread and half a bowl of soup and dinner was one piece of steamed sponge cake made of corn flour and half a bowl of soup. Because our room was very crowded, in the evening there was only room enough to lay down on our side to sleep. All year round we could take only cold showers. In the hot summer we allowed to have a shower only once in several days. Under such bad living conditions my health was ruined. I had skin ulcers all over my body and my weight dropped from 95 kilos (about 210 lb) to 70 kilos (about 150 lb). Several times I was on the verge of collapse. Because I was extremely weak the prison released me. However, on the second day after my release they sent me to a brainwashing class. I went into a coma after I was taken there, so they released me again.

In January 2002, I went to the center of Tiananmen Square and raised with both of my hands a banner bearing the Chinese characters of "Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance" and shouted "Falun Dafa is good." I was then taken back to the Tangshan No. One Prison again.

One evening when the head of the prison, Liu Hao came to our cell for an inspection he ordered my roommates to not let me to go to bed in the evening and they were given a three day deadline to persuade me to give up my belief. So they talked to me in turns and forced me to stand up for two consecutive nights. The head of the inmates even asked more than ten people to strip me and then knelt down to beg me to give up my belief. My heart was unmoved. On the third day, prison guard Zhao Haihong asked me to read aloud a so called "Repentance Statement" written by other people. I refused. He stripped off my clothing and beat me with a police club. When he got exhausted he ordered the inmates to continue to beat me. As a result of the beating my bottom was full of blood blisters. Then they forced me to sit on an iron chair for seven days in a row and as a result my legs were all swollen. Prison guard Zhao Haihong asked me to write a "statement of cognition." I wrote, "Falun Dafa is the Righteous Fa." I was illegally held in the prison for five months.

On July 5 of this year I was sent to the so-called "class under strict control" of the No 6 Team, Hehuakeng Forced Labour Camp of Tangshan City. There we were forced to sit on small stools from 6 o'clock in the morning until 2 o'clock the next morning. Only then were we allowed to go to bed. The same schedule was repeated everyday. One day, prison guards forced me to go and do manual labour. I passed out not long after I started to work. However, they still did not let me to take a break, instead they asked me to load sand.

Several days passed but I firmly maintained my belief. The prison team leader Wang Yulin ordered the head of the class to beat me up. Then the head of the class took me to his bedroom and then shut the door. Five or six of them started to beat me until I lost consciousness. After I came to, Wang Yulin put me in a solitary compartment where there was only one iron bed that was only 50 centimetres or about 1.6 ft wide. They used handcuffs and ropes to bind my hands and feet to the iron bed and used a cigarette lighter to burn every part of my body. Then they took a wooden stick about 3 centimetres or 1.2 inches thick and inserted the stick underneath one of my thighs and put the other end of the stick on top of my other thigh. Then they pressed the other leg downwards extremely hard. I screamed with extreme pain. They stuffed my mouth with three towels. On the second day when I came out of the solitary compartment, I had wounds all over my body. There were large bruises on my inner thighs. My arms did not move properly. The left arm was the most severe. It had actually gone completely numb. I also had difficulty in walking.

When they found that I was dying, they sent me to the hospital. After the examination, the doctor told me that my liver, and kidnies did not function normally, and my lungs were infected. The blood test also showed certain abnormalities. I was told the numbness my left arm was caused by nerve damage. At that time I only weighed 64 kilos or about 140 lb. My family asked a lawyer to file charges in court against this persecution, but the lawyer said he had orders from above that he could not defend Falun Gong members.

In China, the persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners is extremely severe. I suffered from the persecution simply for speaking fairly of Falun Dafa and was jailed for two years and two months. There are still tens of thousands of Dafa practitioners who are brutally persecuted by Jiang's evil clique. I sincerely hope all the kind-hearted people in the world will stand up on the side of justice and help to stop China's persecution of practitioners who are pursuing "Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance."
