A Special Press Conference in Los Cabos, Mexico (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) Los Cabos is located in western Mexico and comprised of two cities, San Jose and San Lucas that are 30 km apart. "Sunshine, beaches, waves, cactus, palm trees" constitutes Los Cabos' typical tropical scenery. APEC is going to be held on October 21 in Mexico and practitioners from around the world have gotten off to an early start to clarify the truth of Falun Gong and the brutal persecution by Jiang's regime in China and overseas.

After three days of preparation and with help from practitioners from different areas, a special press conference was held on October 18, 2002. Eight news agencies from local areas attended the conference. After one hour of asking questions, conversing and observing, the reporters were able to gain a better understanding of Falun Gong. The press conference was successfully concluded in a friendly atmosphere. Before departure, the reporters all left their contact information and wanted to get further information. They also expressed that they would watch the practitioners' activities during the APEC.

The press conference was held in a beautiful Mexican style restaurant. The manager was very supportive after having learned of the situation in China and offered the facility for free. He said after the press conference, "What you're doing is a very noble thing. Everyone should contribute to safeguard the great virtue of Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance. I am so glad I could offer some help within my ability."

Local practitioners had no experience in organizing a press conference before and there were quite a few oversights. Through the practitioners' collaboration, the press conference was still quite a success. A reporter wrote on his card, "Thank you very much. Please contact me. I want to know more about Falun Dafa. Please tell me where I could learn the exercise, I will join you also."
