Here is what was said in the article: A Falun Gong practitioner, Bao Lina, visited the Government Offices of Subei State, the City Hall of Medan, the local branch offices of the Justice and Human Rights Department, the local branch offices of the Immigration Department and the Department of Labor and Immigration Bureau. She clarified the facts to these officials. Generally, these government branch offices accept Falun Gong. She explained to the officials that Falun Gong is a cultivation practice that is good for the mind and the body. Practicing Falun Gong makes one more modest, gentle and tolerant. At present, the Falun Gong practitioners in Medan are actively introducing and promoting (Falun Gong) to the government of Medan.

During the "8.17" National Day celebration in Jakarta, pressure from the Chinese Embassy caused us to not be able to participate in the celebration activities sponsored by the local Falun Gong practitioners. For example, seminars, workshops and parades had to be cancelled. Once the facts were clarified, the government understood that Falun Gong is good and no longer opposed our activities. The Falun Gong practitioners in Indonesia had a meeting with the First Committee Of Congress, the Foreign Minister and the Chief Police Officer on Sept. 23. All have agreed that there was no problem for any activities to be held by Falun Gong practitioners in Indonesia.
