Dafa Practitioners Tortured in the "Mental Education School" at the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp in Liaoning Province

A so-called "mental education school" was set up on the grounds of the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp in Liaoning Province. Once a Dafa practitioner is kidnapped into this forced labor camp, collaborators [Former Falun Gong practitioners who have gone astray due to brainwashing and torture] will lead him or her to take a bath. The collaborators "help to wash the practitioner's clothes," which is essentially a kind of inside-out frisking. Zhou Ping, a former practitioner from the Pulandian District in Dalian City thought of this method. After forsaking "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance," he became extremely vicious. After the washing, several collaborators besiege the Dafa practitioner and say, "Minghui Net printed the news that authorities in the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp beat practitioners. As you can see, there is no such a thing. You can see how good we have it here." If the practitioner refuses to accept their lies, the collaborators reveal their true natures immediately. They beat the practitioner and even say that it is for the practitioner's own good. The Masanjia Forced Labor Camp guards grant the collaborators total freedom to use any kind of means to make Dafa practitioners "compromise" at any cost, meaning to turn away from Dafa.

The collaborators use fatiguing tactics to brainwash practitioners for over ten hours at a time. After Dafa practitioners get up at 5:00 a.m., they are made to listen to brainwashing until 11:00 p.m. or 12:00 p.m. If Dafa practitioners don't give in, they might be brainwashed this way for over one month and sometimes even three or four months. Such kinds of brainwashing groups are spread all over the forced labor camp.

In May 2000, vile persons launched a "focus fight." A firm Dafa practitioner named Gao Guangqing hasn't slept for more than ten hours during a ten-day period. Unyielding Dafa practitioners are locked into an "inspection room," to be managed by strict and harsh methods. Over twenty persons are crammed together in an area less than 40 square meters, about 400 square feet. Except for ten beds in the room, the rest, less than 20 square meters (about 200 square ft) is the activity area for these twenty people. They are forced to sit on small wooden stools for fourteen to fifteen hours each day. They must get up at 5:00 a.m., and are not allowed to go to bed until very late at night. Two collaborators closely monitor each practitioner 24 hours a day. The practitioners' words and actions are strictly limited. Furthermore, they are forced to listen to lots of Dafa-slandering slogans, which badly torment their hearts. The guards forbid firm practitioners to have contact with anyone. No matter how far their families walk here to see their loved ones, only half an hour visitation time is allowed. During their meeting, the chief sits right beside them, listening to their conversations to make sure that the outside world will not know how brutally the officials torture Dafa practitioners.

Dafa practitioners persist in Dafa even in such a severe environment of physical and mental torture. Once a Dafa practitioner was locked in solitary confinement for over ten days, merely because he didn't want to sleep between the two vile persons who monitored him. Dafa practitioners who go on hunger strike are force-fed daily. Some of them are force-fed twice or even three times a day. On top of that, to add insult to injury, each time they are charged 20 Yuan for this abuse.
