Nine Years in Jail On the morning of September 28, 2002, eight Falun Dafa practitioners were secretly tried and
sentenced to jail in the Chengguan and Qilihe Areas of Lanzhou City. The longest term was 9 years,
the shortest 3 years. The next day the official report only mentioned Zhang Xiaodong, ignoring the
names and sentences of the other seven. Because no advance notice was made public, none of the local
practitioners knew of the trial, and even the family members of those practitioners being sentenced
had not been informed. In the courtroom, these eight practitioners looked very energetic even though they had been

been abducted within a couple of days, including the following women: Wang Yue, Wang Guifang , Ma

Are Arrested Hainan Falun Dafa practitioner Li Changmao was arrested in March of this year and then watched by
police after his release. On August 13, he was once again followed and then re-arrested. The police
then persecuted other practitioners whose phone numbers were probably stored in his cellular phone.
In the early morning of August 15, 2002, about 20 policemen from the Xiuying Police Substation in
Haikou City surrounded the residence of practitioner Zeng Haibo. The material site he had set up at
his living area was damaged when police confiscated his computer, printer, savings account, all the
truth-clarifying CDs, etc. They also arrested his girlfriend Wang Li, who is a non-practitioner. At the time, Zeng Haibo happened to be in Beijing on a business trip. He escaped from the
persecution with the help of some kind-hearted people. The police are currently monitoring the
