Falun Dafa Practitioners of Prestigious Tsinghua University, Chu Tong, Yu Chao, Wang Weiyu, Xu Zhiguang and Bi Guosheng are Secretly Kidnapped
(Clearwisdom.net) In recent months, five more Falun Gong practitioners of Tsinghua University
were secretly kidnapped; their whereabouts are still unknown. Their names are Chu Tong, Yu Chao,
Wang Weiyu, Xu Zhiguang, and Bi Guosheng. Here is a brief summary regarding the missing practitioners of Tsinghua University: Chu Tong, female, 32 years old, graduated from the Institute of Microelectronics at Tsinghua
University with a Master's degree. She is now a lecturer in the same institute. On October 27, 1999,
she went to Tiananmen Square to appeal for Falun Gong and was brutally beaten by the police. After
she was arrested, she was detained in the No. 7 Section of the Beijing City Police Department. She
was illegally imprisoned for one and a half years. After she was released from prison, she published
her "solemn declaration" expressing her steadfast faith to continue cultivating Falun Dafa.
Thereafter, she and her husband Yu Chao were forced to leave their home to avoid further
persecution. Yu Chao, 30 years old, is Chu Tong's husband. He was a student entering freshman year in 1990,
majoring in the Department of Precision Instruments of Tsinghua University. He is now a
network engineer. In 2000, he displayed a Falun Dafa banner in Tiananmen Square. Because of this, he
was illegally given a sentence of one year forced labor; but he was allowed to serve the sentence
outside the labor camp. After his wife Chu Tong was unshackled from prison and published her
"solemn declaration," this couple was forced to leave their home to avoid further
persecution. Wang Weiyu, 29 years old, is a graduate student of the class of 1996 and pursuing his doctoral
degree in the Department of Precision Instruments at Tsinghua University. He was once the party
secretary of the department student branch, and also a counselor for undergraduate students. Because
of his persistence in practicing Falun Dafa, the school suspended his study twice. In the second
half of 2000, he was forced to leave the school, becoming homeless. Xu Zhiguang, 25 years old, is a graduate student of the class of 1999 pursuing his doctoral
degree in the Department of Precision Instruments at Tsinghua University. He was once the chairman
for the department student association of science and technology. The school suspended his study
once because of his persistence in cultivating Falun Dafa. In April 2001, the school authorities
kidnapped him and forced him into a brainwashing class. Later, he was forced to leave the school and
become homeless. Bi Guosheng, 23 years old, was a student of the 1996 class in the Department of Electronics
Engineering in Tsinghua University. From Zhang Mengye (a Tsinghua University graduate in 1950s and a classmate of Hu Jintao, [Hu
Jintao is one of the top leaders in the current Central Chinese Government]), Yuan Jiang (a
Tsinghua University student of the 1990 class who was persecuted to death), Zhao Ming (a Tsinghua
University student of the 1990 class, who is currently studying in Ireland's Trinity College), and
the five Tsinghua University graduates and employees (including Yao Yue) who were illegally given
heavy sentences in late 2001, to Lin Xiang and five other Tsinghua University students who have been
illegally detained in Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province for almost two years, and then to the
five Tsinghua University students, Chu Tong, etc., whose whereabouts were still unknown, they have
all suffered from the cruel persecution of Jiang's dictatorship. We hope that the persecution that
the Tsinghua University students and administration have endured will make the international
community pay more attention to the current situation in China and demand Jiang's regime to stop its
criminal activities immediately and unconditionally release all Falun Dafa practitioners who are
illegally detained. September 21, 2002
