At the instigation of the Laixi City "610 Office," the Party Committee and government of Nanshu Town in Laixi City, Shandong Province, conspired with the town's police station to launch a large scale campaign to illegally round up Falun Dafa practitioners just before the October 1 National Day. At midnight, lawless officials took simultaneous action and violently broke into Falun Dafa practitioners' homes. Nine practitioners, including Liu Hanchun, Zheng Weizhi, and their spouses, Liu Jingquan, and so on, were taken to the town's government building and held there illegally. Practitioners who had escaped arrest were forced to flee and become homeless. Because this occurred in the middle of the busy harvest season, practitioners' families were short-handed and could not harvest the crops in time. Wheat seeds could not be sown, and vegetables and fowl were not tended, resulting in tremendous economic losses. During the mid-autumn festival, traditionally a time for family reunions, Falun Dafa practitioners had either been thrown into prison or forced to become homeless, leaving elderly relatives and under-aged children uncared for. There was great sadness throughout the neighborhood.

At the time this report was sent out, the nine practitioners had already been held in illegal custody for over twenty days. Lawless officials claimed, "They will be locked up at least until after the conclusion of the Sixteenth National Party Congress [which is scheduled to be held in November]. We will look into their situations after that."

We hereby call for attention from the international community and kindhearted people with a sense of justice. Let us work together to put an end to the persecution of Falun Dafa and Dafa practitioners in China!

A Falun Dafa practitioner was illegally arrested, and all her Falun Gong books at home were also confiscated. As she did not have a thorough understanding of the Fa, she wrote a "statement of guarantee" [to quit practicing Falun Gong] and was released. Upon returning home, she discussed her actions with fellow practitioners. Realizing that it was a serious issue, she felt extremely remorseful. Someone recommended that she publish a solemn statement over the Internet. She gave it careful thought and said resolutely, "I am going to reason with them!" She went alone to meet with the authorities, where she announced with dignity her determination to continue practicing Falun Gong and then demanded that all of her illegally confiscated books be returned. Those in charge of her case immediately replied, "Give her back the books, and let her go." This way, this practitioner has erased the stain on her path of cultivation with honor and dignity.

In mid-September 2002, Falun Dafa practitioner Shen Jian in Tianhe District of Guangzhou City greeted her child's mother-in-law Aunt Feng, also a practitioner, at home. Aunt Feng had brought her some Chinese moon cakes for the visit. However, thugs from the "610 Office" of Guangzhou City abducted both Shen Jian and Aunt Feng. Aunt Feng was sent to the Haizhu District Brainwashing Class, and Shen Jian was sent to the notorious Huangpu Brainwashing Center. (See numerous reports on Clearwisdom.net about brainwashing activities in Huangpu District, Guangzhou City.) The Huangpu Brainwashing Center has recruited thugs among local ruffians and gangsters. Team leader Qiu Zhaohua told Falun Dafa practitioners that he was a gang member and had committed homicide before. He was particularly vicious when beating practitioners and did not worry about killing those who were being beaten. Practitioner Li Xiaojing, a teacher in Guangzhou University, was tortured to death at this facility.

Falun Dafa practitioner Liang, 70 years old, lives in the Wudonglou family quarters of the Vehicles Factory in the Huanggu District of Shenyang City, Liaoning Province. She has persisted in practicing Falun Gong. As a result, thugs from the local police station, her work unit, and the neighborhood administration office broke into her home through the windows around July 10, 2002, and abducted her.

Dong Min, Liang's daughter, is also a determined Falun Gong practitioner. She was abducted at work by personnel from the "610 Office" and the Political and Judiciary Committee of the Heping District around July 8, 2002.

Dong Yiran, Liang's son and a university graduate, was a laboratory technician for the Shenyang City Police Department. He was fired for not giving up the practice of Falun Gong. In May 2002 he was arrested at home by police officers from the Changjiang Police Station in Huanggu District where he lived. His whereabouts remain unknown.

A practitioner released after two years of forced labor education found a fellow practitioner and asked for a copy of Zhuan Falun to study. Besides the copy of the book, the fellow practitioner also gave him Master's recent lectures on the Fa as well as materials downloaded from Clearwisdom.net. After reading these materials, the practitioner deeply regretted what he had done against Dafa while being deceived and brainwashed. He was so regretful that he immediately wrote a solemn statement, declaring that whatever he said or did against Dafa in the forced labor camp was nullified. He has come back to the mainstream of Fa rectification. Even though he has not found a job, he earnestly donated 100 Yuan for fellow practitioners to produce materials that clarify the facts of Falun Gong. [500 Yuan is the average monthly income for an urban worker in China.]

On the afternoon of June 27, 2001, two Falun Dafa practitioners were posting materials clarifying the facts of Dafa in the Goubangzi area. An old man who was misled by government propaganda tipped off the local police, who arrested the two practitioners and illegally searched their homes. During the arrests, the police officers confiscated over 100 Yuan the practitioners were carrying. The practitioners were held in custody in a detention center for fifteen days, and unreasonably heavy fines were imposed. One practitioner's family member was suspended from work as follow-up persecution.

Around 6:30 a.m. on September 29, 2001, the Hongqi Police Station, in coordination with the neighborhood administration officer, arrested a total of six practitioners. The thugs made up the excuse of "having a conversation" to deceive the practitioners into going to the security section of their work unit, where security personnel had been deployed and telephone lines had been tapped. When all six practitioners had arrived, they were herded onto a bus and driven to the Hongqi Police Station. Later the practitioners were transferred to the No. 2 Detention Center in Panjin City, where they were held illegally for from fifteen to thirty days. Heavy fines were also imposed.

Falun Dafa practitioner Wu Dongsheng of the No. 597 Farm in Shuangyashan City was recently arrested by the Police Department of Heilongjiang Province for publishing a solemn statement on Clearwisdom.net.

Falun Dafa practitioners Xu Jiacheng and Li Shuqin (female) from the Youyi Farm in Shuangyashan City together with practitioner Wang Chunyan (female), who was homeless, were arrested on October 16.

We hope that practitioners who learn of these arrests send forth righteous thoughts to help them walk out of the demon's dens as soon as possible.

In mid-August, police suddenly arrested Falun Dafa practitioners Wang Huanqing, Cui Yuying (female), Yang Shuye, and Chen Mankun at home. Wang Huanqing and Cui Yuying were immediately sent to a forced labor camp. We call for attention to these acts from people who value justice.

Political thugs in Huludao City, Liaoning Province, have recently started showing a movie that is full of lies. On October 19, students from several schools in the Lianshan District were ordered to assemble at the Shuini Cultural Palace to watch the movie. (It is not yet clear what happens to students in other districts.) Lawless officials have focused on brainwashing and poisoning young students with pure minds. We hope Falun Dafa practitioners send forth righteous thoughts targeting evil manipulative factors in other dimensions.
