Thank you for your strong support of Falun Gong in America and throughout the whole world.

The persecution of Falun Gong challenges our Homestead Security Act, coming close to home.

Recently, I moved back to my hometown of Evansville, IN. I was living in Orlando, Florida during the time that the Chairwoman of the International Operations and of the Human Rights Committee, Congresswoman Ros-Lehitnen introduced Resolution #188 to the House of Representatives. The first weekend of visiting back home was the Fourth of July, so I went straight down to the River City Fireworks. For the 1st time that evening, I finally met our Mayor of Evansville, Russell G. Lloyd Jr.

A couple of years ago, during a Christmas Holiday, I set up workshops in the City of Evansville. During this time, Honorable Mayor Lloyd Jr. gave Falun Gong a proclamation to our City on December 27, 2000. I mailed in the application for a proclamation, so I never had the chance to personally thank the Mayor for giving this. I felt he was very humble by his speech the night of July 4th, so I decided that this was a good chance to thank him, even though this was two years ago. When I told him who I was, he said with a smile "So you're the one." I shook his hand and thanked him from the bottom of my heart. He immediately then said that he had received a nasty letter from the Chinese Communist Government right after he gave Evansville the Falun Gong Proclamation. I discovered at a later date that the Evansville City office was being harassed by phone calls from the Communist Party. I was very shocked when Mayor Lloyd told me this! How could this happen in our beautiful, Midwestern town, of Indiana? Our Mayor then replied to the letter. "I wrote them right back stating that our Country was built on the very basis of Freedom of Religious belief." Tears filled my eyes, as I could have not imagined such a wonderful welcome home surprise. The Mayor kept on surprising me though, by stating "When I saw this information on Falun Gong, I knew this was something very important to stand up for." I walked away, watched the fireworks in silence, appreciating our freedom in a new light.
