At around 6 a.m. on September 6, 2002, after the crowd just finished watching the raising of the national flag, a practitioner hung a 0.5-meter-wide and 1-meter-long "Falun Dafa is good" banner on a pine tree in the south side of Tiananmen Square. She unfolded the banner and carefully spread it smoothly. At this time, a plainclothes officer walked toward her, but she confidently passed him by, shoulder-to-shoulder. A police car was parked less than 5 meters from the banner, but no one was in the car. After the practitioner boarded a bus and looked toward the square, she saw many police milling around the area where the banner was hung.

On June 12, 2002, Fu Xinping, the Deputy Chief of the Yuxin Police Station in Tianmen City led a group of police and broke into my house. They took me to the Tianmen First Detention Center, where I was interrogated and tortured. Director Wei ordered the inmates to beat and torture me. When I went on a hunger strike, they cuffed my hands to a board for one day and one night, and force-fed me. Zheng Xianjie, the chief of the political and security section in the city's police department, tried to force me to reveal the source of some Dafa materials. He bent my fingers back as far as they would go and threatened to break them. The inmates and police officers beat and tortured me for 70 days all together.

Currently, Tianmen Detention Center is illegally holding about ten Dafa practitioners, including Yang Beifang, Jin Qionge (female), and Zhang Yun (female). The Tianmen City Police Department also illegally sent five practitioners including Gao Yan to the Shayang Forced Labor Camp.

Wang Youqing, male, is more than 60 years old. On August 25, 2002, when he was reading a book at home, people from the "610 Office" [a bureau specifically created by the Chinese government to persecute Falun Gong. It has absolute power over each level of administration in the Party, as well as over the political and judiciary branches] and the police department broke in and arrested him. In order to arrest another practitioner, Fu Xinsheng, they lied, saying that Wang gave his name, searched his house and forcefully arrested Fu. Fu had been arrested from his work unit by the "610 Office" and held at the detention center for as long as eight months before. Now he is being detained and tortured at Hanchuan First Detention Center.

We call upon all kind-hearted people to rescue these practitioners and stop the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China.

Recently, the Chinese regime has become even more fanatical in their persecution of Falun Gong. They claim that before the Party's sixth congressional meeting, they would arrest all practitioners who left home in order to avoid the persecution. The "610 Office" also ordered: "By all means and at any price, suppress Falun Gong." According to reports, Luo Gan recently praised Hainan Province's brutal persecution of Falun Gong practitioners and ordered it to "take care of" all firm practitioners within two years. They have a list of practitioners around the country, and they are planning to build special brainwashing centers in order to torture these practitioners. Luo also ordered the elimination of those practitioners who make Dafa truth materials.

Here, we call upon all the people and governments of the world to condemn this persecution of basic human rights in China that has gone on for more than three years and to help to stop this brutality. The illegal detention, torture and murder of Falun Gong practitioners must be stopped.

Liu Juhua, female, 53, is a well-respected official at the Huanghuagang District Educational Department and has been working there for more than 30 years. Her work unit illegally suspended her because she peacefully appealed for Falun Gong as the law permits. They are now only paying her 300 Yuan per month. In June 2000, she, her sister Liu Zhihong, and other practitioners openly practiced Falun Gong and were sent to Shayang Force Labor Camp. The sisters were released at the end of 2001.

On the evening of June 14, 2002, the police department made an excuse to illegally arrest the Liu sisters and sent them to Shayang Forced Labor Camp without informing their family. Liu Juhua was sentenced to one year and Liu Zhihong was sentenced to one and a half years.

In the meantime, Lu Jinshan, male, around 30, and Liu Xuelan, female, former employees of the Huangzhou District Court, were illegally arrested and sent to a forced labor camp because the police suspected they leaked information to other practitioners about the date of the court's illegal trial for Dafa practitioners.
