Since the 16^th National Party Congress is commencing in a few days, scores of plainclothes policemen are everywhere on Tiananmen Square. When three or more people gather together for a while, a gang of plainclothes officers will come over, surround them, stare at them and ask them where they are from as if suspecting them of doing bad things, which has made people feel very uncomfortable.

At present, over 4,000 policemen from Jilin Province alone have been transferred to Beijing. They were said to receive their assignments, but actually had been sent to handle the "emergency." People are all talking about this abnormal phenomenon.

After the recent global intensive sending righteous thoughts effort, it seems that the remaining evil in other dimensions are concentrating their energy, attempting to preserve a superficial appearance they deem obligatory They spare no effort to give the wrong picture that the evil forces are still in control of the situation. At present, many Dafa practitioners are missing. People avoid talking about sensitive issues in public places. They are deeply frightened by the persecution in the past three years. Seeing the great amount of persecution happening all around them, people are afraid of being implicated and bringing persecution on themselves. We can say that what people feel most scared of is the persecution against Falun Gong, and what people hate most is the spoon-fed propaganda on TV slandering Falun Gong.

Recently, Dafa practitioner Mr. Pan Gang from Nongan County was abducted from his work unit into a brainwashing class. A fellow practitioner with the last name of Liu who sells ready-boxed, instant lunches for a living was also taken to the brainwashing class. According to brainwashing class personnel, they don't really like doing this job as it's too wicked. It shows the demons manipulating people's minds are getting less and less powerful now.

Practitioners illegally detained at Guangxi Province's Forced Labor Camp are forced to do heavy labor without a break. Determined practitioners were forced to work until midnight or 1:00 a.m.

The officials in the camp are very vicious. They often instigate common prisoners to beat or abuse practitioners, deprive practitioners of drinking water and of using restrooms. Many determined practitioners are not released when their detention terms expire, but are transferred to some other places for further detention. The officials claim that determined practitioners will not be released unless the central government permits it.

From late September of 2002, policemen from Xanning City, Hubei Province began to relentlessly arrest practitioners. Plainclothes policemen arrested practitioner Mr. Li Guishun and Mr. Zhang when they were posting Dafa truth-clarifying materials. Practitioner Ms. Luo Ying was arrested because she had sent truth-clarifying materials to the director of the police department. Practitioner Xiang had been illegally fined and sentenced to one year of forced labor because of his determination. He was released home early this year but was arrested again, because policemen found a Dafa truth-clarifying VCD at his home. Additionally, he was laid off and forced to turn in his apartment certificate to his work unit. [Note: traditionally, places of employment in China provide housing for the workers. Without his apartment certificate, the practitioner has no right to live there any longer]. He leads a very difficult life. Other practitioners who were illegally arrested include: Mr. Pi Hexian, Mr. Wu Zhilong, Ms. Sun, Lu and Liu, along with other practitioner whose names are unknown. Many practitioners' homes were ransacked. Several practitioners managed to get away from policemen who tricked them into coming to the police department with the excuse of asking questions and trying to arrest them. Now all practitioners are detained at Xanning City's No. 1 Detention Center, and their relatives are not allowed to visit them. So far, all practitioners are protesting this unlawful treatment with a hunger strike.

Dafa Practitioner Fang Lei and Mr. Yang Yizhong, employees of Daowai District's Zhenxing Company in Harbin City, were forced to live in exile. Yang Yizhong has been arrested. Policemen from the Taiping District found some Dafa materials in the warehouse where Dafa practitioner Fang Lei had been in charge. These lawless policemen used this opportunity to advance their promotion, exaggerating the whole story, claiming they found two thousands copies of Dafa materials. In order to avoid persecution, Fang Lei and Yang Yizhong had to live in exile. Daowai District's policemen threatened the Zhengxing Company, saying that they will have to hand over these two Dafa practitioners within three days. Several days later, Dafa practitioner Yang Yizhong was arrested and Fang Lei still has to lead a homeless life.

On October 31, 2002, Dafa practitioners Ms. Qiu Shuying and Mr. Shan Xitian from Shuangyashan City were illegally arrested from their homes.

Ms. Dong Qi, 58 years old, has been detained at Liaoning Province's Masanjia Forced Labor Camp for about one month and her family is not aware of her detention. Her two daughters are studying abroad in Germany. We implore you: please appeal and help to rescue their mother!

Ms. Zheng Shuyun, 51 years old, and her daughter Ms. Wang Yan, 20 years old, are residents from Jincheng Town of Linghai City, Liaoning Province. They established a Dafa material-production site in Yi County, Liaoning Province. In June 2002, lawless policemen ransacked their house and arrested them. The mother and daughter were beaten almost to death during the interrogation. Now they have been sent to the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp for three years of forced labor. This is the second time that Zheng Shuyun was arrested and detained at the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp.
