On October 27^th, 2002, the Chenguan District Court in Lanzhou City, Gansu Province, gave out heavy sentences of 10 to 20 years to seven practitioners who had broadcast a program about the facts of Falun Dafa on cable TV. Li Wenmin, Wang Pengyun, and Wei Junren were given 20-year sentences. Sun Zhaohai, Qiang Xiaoyi, Liu Zhirong, and Su Anzhou were given sentences ranging from 10 to 19 years. They were sentenced for making Falun Dafa truth-clarifying VCDs and then broadcasting them via cable TV. The court did not notify any of the defendants' relatives about the trial.

Another Gansu Province court, this time in Baiyin City, also illegally sentenced two practitioners who had broadcast Falun Gong truth clarification VCDs via cable TV. Zhang Guangli was sentenced to 12 years and Chang Jubing to 11 years.
