political gang are extremely fearful. They are afraid that Falun Dafa practitioners will go to
Beijing to appeal as well as clarify the truth in other areas. Therefore they have ordered curfews
not only in Beijing but also in other areas during this period. At night, the police would stop all
vehicles and pedestrians for identification and would detain anyone without an ID card or any Falun
Gong practitioner. We also heard that they said that this was a special period and that they would
rather wrongfully arrest one hundred practitioners than let one escape. [Yi County, Liaoning Province] The Police Desperately Arrest Falun Dafa Practitioners Up until November 2, the police have arrested at least 128 practitioners for no apparent reason.
The police asked all "registered" practitioners, one by one, whether they practiced Falun
Gong and took away all practitioners who answered, "Yes." [Yingcheng, Hubei Province] The Persecution of Falun Dafa Practitioner Xiong Junwei On October 25, 2002, the police from Yingcheng Police Department arrested Xiong from his
workplace and secretly sentenced him to four years in prison. In order to protest, Xiong went on a
hunger strike without water. On November 3 when Xiong's life was in a critical condition, they sent
him to Hubei Shuanghuan Chemical Incorporation Hospital, where he formerly worked. On the afternoon
of November 5, the hospital released him to his home and he is still on a hunger strike because he
is under house arrest. His family members have appealed to the secondary court in Xiaogan City. [Changchun, Jilin Province] Watch Out for the Trap of Evil People Recently, various work units and the local police stations in Changchun investigated all the
Falun Dafa practitioners. The work unit asked the families to inform the practitioners to go back to
work and unconditionally guaranteed their (the practitioners) safety. Some work units made
"guarantee certificates" for the practitioners. The fact is that in order to prevent the
practitioners from going to Beijing to appeal, they first wanted to hold the practitioners using
this phony "safety guarantee." Then, they could wait for orders from authorities, after
the Communist Party's Sixteenth Congregation has completed, to take action toward the practitioners. [Changchun, Jilin Province] Chaoyanggou Forced Labor Camp Tortures Falun Dafa Practitioners On October 17, during the period of the Communist Party's Sixteenth Congregation, the police at
Chaoyanggou Forced Labor Camp brutally tortured more than 400 Falun Dafa Practitioners using the
camp's seven squads. They used electric batons and wooden sticks to mercilessly beat practitioners,
including Feng Liping and Liu Tianming. However, the practitioners were not moved one bit from the
tortures. [Nanyang City, Henan Province] The Police Again Arrested Falun Dafa Practitioner Wang Chunrui On September 29, 2002, the police from Wancheng District Police Branch again arrested Wang and
his whereabouts are unknown. Wang was a staff member of Henan Qunyinghuicui Incorporation. In December 1999, he went to
Beijing in order to appeal and was sent back and detained at Nanyang Detention Center for more than
one month. The police extorted more than 3000 Yuan [Chinese currency, the monthly salary for an
average Chinese urban worker is about 500 Yuan] from him, after which, his work unit illegally
fired him for persisting in practicing Falun Gong. In June 2001, the police arrested Wang when he was walking on the street and confiscated items
from his home. After detaining him for several months, they then sent him to a forced labor camp in
Zhengzhou. He escaped with a righteous mind on the way to the camp. The chief and deputy chief of
the security squad in Wancheng Police Branch are Wang Taicheng and Duan Xiancheng. Moreover, in 2002, the police from Wuolong District Police Branch arrested female Dafa
practitioner Zhou Jinlan when she was posting Falun Dafa materials. She is currently being detained
at Nanyang First Detention Center in Changzhuang. The political instructor of the security squad in

equipment including two copiers, two computers, and a laser printer. More than 30 practitioners were

destroyed several Dafa material sites in Fuxin and arrested several practitioners. [Linyi City, Shandong Province] The Police Destroy a Falun Dafa Material Site On the afternoon of October 29, 2002, the police illegally destroyed a Dafa material site in
Linyi. They arrested four practitioners and confiscated items including four laptops, one desktop
computer, two laser printers, three ink-jet printers, one paper cutter, one laminator, one advanced
radio, one CD writer, one motorcycle, cell phones, and some cash. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Films That Slander Falun Dafa Are Showing at Various Theaters
Recently [Heishan County, Liaoning Province] The Evil People in Taihe Town Police Station and Baotui
Village The police from Taihe Police Station, working with Zhao Wancheng, the Party Secretary in Baodui
Village, persecuted Falun Dafa practitioners. They forcefully sent practitioners to the county's
brainwashing center. Two practitioners were forced to leave home in order to avoid the persecution
and one of them has not been able to return home in over a year. The police station also forced the
practitioners to write the "guarantee statement" to renounce Falun Gong. Zhao Wancheng
