By a practitioner in China

November 12, 2002

Around 9:00 a.m. on April 19, 2002, while my husband and I, both Falun Gong practitioners, were at home, a group of approximately 9 people abruptly rushed in. Among them, were people from my place of work, including the director and vice-party secretary of the factory; others came from the Economic and Trade Committee, including the vice-director and a few other members of the Committee. One person claimed he represented the police, but later we discovered that he was performing this service for the police in lieu of fines he owed for visiting prostitutes. He informed me I was expected at the police station. Without responding I sat there and started sending forth righteous thoughts. Then I told them that I would not go because Falun Gong practitioners did not belong there.

Seeing that I refused to do as they expected, the director and vice-party secretary of the factory, pretending to be nice to us, pushed us to leave quickly and said that we should not give them any trouble. My husband and I said to them very seriously, "Just because we want to cultivate Truth-Compassion-Forbearance to be good persons, our salaries have been terminated and we have been suspended from our jobs. We also are suffering from your repeated harassment. Who is creating trouble for whom?" Being asked this in a calm manner, the two began shouting to a few young people from my work place that they should carry me out. I was sitting on the floor sending forth my righteous thoughts to eliminate the evil forces that were manipulating them in other dimensions. When these people attempted to move a sofa near me, I became worried knowing that many Dafa materials were hidden behind the sofa. So I stood up and went out into the yard. They all walked toward me and forcibly dragged me to a vehicle. They then drove me to a brainwashing center.

On the way to the brainwashing center, I kept searching inside myself. Was there any place that I did not do well? Did I leave any loopholes? I thought as a practitioner in the Fa-rectification period, I should not cooperate with any orders from the evil forces. Facing the persecution imposed by the old evil forces, I must completely deny all of their arrangements. I kept sending forth righteous thoughts and asked for Teacher Li's help in my heart. When the vehicle arrived at the entrance to the brainwashing center, I felt dizzy and my heart began to palpitate. They ordered me to get out of the vehicle. I told them that I was not feeling well and was unable to move. One of them said, "Are you pretending to be ill?" I said that Falun Gong practitioners never tell lies. I told them that I started to learn Falun Gong after all medical treatment failed to cure my heart disease and high blood pressure and my health has been largely improved since then; today all of these illness symptoms were caused by their persecution. They said, "We didn't want to bring you here. It was because the "610 Office" [an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems] gave us a quota. You only need to stay here for a couple of days. Then we can report we fulfilled our duty." I thought about what they said and was unsure whether to go or stay. It all depended on Teacher's arrangement. I wanted to go back home today because it was not the place that I should stay.

They found a doctor for me and attempted to send me to a hospital. I said to them, "I don't want to stay here. It's not the place I should stay. Please send me home quickly. I'll take good care of myself at home." Due to my firmly refusing to cooperate with them, they agreed to send me back home. It was 2:00 PM when I got home. After 5 hours, I was home again.

From this experience, I truly realized that as Teacher Li indicated, "No matter what the situation, do not cooperate with the evil's demands, orders, or what it instigates. If everyone does this the environment won't be this way." (from Teacher's article "Dafa Disciples' Righteous Thoughts are Powerful")

The above account is from my personal understandings at my cultivation level. Fellow practitioners are invited to point out anything not correct.

The following are a few more incidents taking place in our area.

On May 12, 2002, a female practitioner went out posting truth-clarifying banners. On her way back home, she was kidnapped by the police and was sent to the county detention center. After 6 days of a hunger strike and going without water, she was released.

On August 9, 2002, a male practitioner had a chance encounter with police while driving to distribute truth-clarifying literature out of town. He was then sent to the county detention center. After 10 days of refusing both food and water to protest their persecution, he got out of the detention center.

In August 2001, two female practitioners climbed over a wall at night and escaped from the brainwashing center. They are unable to return home since and are now moving from place to place to avoid further persecution.

In October 2001, a male practitioner was taken away from home and suffered illegal detention for 4 months. His family paid huge fines in exchange for his release. A month later, he was caught and taken to a brainwashing center. The police even attempted to send him to a labor camp. One day when he caught the police off guard, he walked out the door of the brainwashing center. Since then he has been busy with many truth-clarifying activities.
