Zhang Xiulan, female, over 40 years old, is a practitioner from Zhengzhou City. She went to Beijing to appeal in December 2000, and her whereabouts since then have been unknown. In spring of 2002, her husband saw her name on a list at the Chaoyang Police Substation in Beijing, but he didn't see her. The Chaoyang Police Substation said that they had released her long ago. However, she never returned home and it is not known whether she is alive or dead.

On the afternoon of October 26, 2002, a truth-clarifying material site was damaged. Two male and one female Falun Dafa practitioners were captured, with the loss of an all-in-one machine [a multi-functional electronic device for printing, copying, scanning, faxing, etc.] and over 6000 Yuan in cash. Other losses are currently unknown. After that, Liuge (term of endearment) and about ten practitioners were captured. They were illegally detained in Changchun City and are currently still there. On the morning of October 27, Xiaoyu (nickname) was also captured. Under the guidance of Teacher, he (or she) escaped from the evil people's control. The police are also currently sparing no efforts in attempting to capture a practitioner nicknamed Yingzi.

All the Falun Dafa practitioners' relatives who went to visit them at the Zhangshi and the Longshan Forced Labor Camps (where male and female practitioners are detained, respectively) were forced to step on Teacher's photo. It was put on the floor in front of the gate, and whoever refused to step on it would not be allowed to meet his or her relative. Some of the family members tried to avoid stepping on it. However, the police stopped them and asked them to step on it before they could see their relatives. Some of the family members who are Falun Dafa practitioners picked up Teacher's photo, and as a result, they were illegally captured on the spot and immediately detained.

In April of this year, policemen from the Yanxi Police Substation in Yanji City abducted Falun Dafa practitioners Yang Mingyun (female), Zhao Yanlin (female), as well as Ma Fengli (female) and her sister. Among them, Ma Fengli was illegally sentenced to a forced labor camp, and she is currently detained in Changchun City. Yang Mingyun and Ma Fengli's elder sister are still illegally detained in the Yanji Detention Center. According to inside sources, Yang Mingyun has been unlawfully sentenced to four years in jail. In addition, practitioners Pu Hongquan, Qu Yanqiu (female), Song Yonghua, Liu Shuyun (female) were captured last year, following which the "610 Office" in Yanji City severely tortured them. As of now, they have been detained in the Yanji detention Center for over a year.

Guan Lijun, a practitioner from the Changqing Township of Jiamusi City, was illegally captured at, and taken from, his home.

In late September, the "610 Office" forcibly captured Aunt Xu, a Falun Dafa practitioner from Haizhu Area of Guangzhou City. Her whereabouts are still unknown. Another practitioner Ling Qingrong (female) was captured in January of this year and has been illegally detained in the detention center. Her newborn infant was left at home as a result.

One day in September 2002, about ten Falun Dafa practitioners from Huitang Town were captured and sent to the Xielexiang Police Substation in Ningxiang County. They suffered from various means of torture. The police hit their heads with benches, slapped their faces, beat their heads and bellies with fists, shocked them with electric prods, and forced them to kneel down while they stepped on their ankles and their legs. The practitioners refused to reveal their source of Teacher's articles and truth-clarifying materials. They were later released.

By the end of 1999, a practitioner went to Beijing to safeguard the Fa. He (or she) was then detained in the Ningxiang Detention Center, where the police hung him up by his hands, from behind his back, for eight hours, all the while beating him up in order to get some information from him. The practitioner didn't yield at all. This practitioners was released after half a years' torture in the detention center.

The police in Huitang Town capture and release Falun Dafa practitioners at will. They harass practitioners every three to five days. Some practitioners were captured again only a few days after being released. In addition, each time the police torture them more brutally than before. They have thoroughly searched through practitioners' homes. Even the ashes in the fire pit have been turned over and the soil in the fields has been dug through.

Zhang Yunqing, a practitioner from the No.4 Cotton Plant, came back from work around 10:00 a.m. on September 28, 2002. Suddenly, a group of policemen broke into her home and forcibly captured her without giving any explanation. She was sent to the Mianfanglu Police Substation in the Zhongyuan Area. The police searched over her home and confiscated all the truth-clarifying materials they found. Even the little cash they found, totaling only 150 Yuan, was taken away.

It was learned later Zhang Yunqing gave truth-clarifying material to her colleague, who handed it in to the workshop for personal interest. The Party Secretary Ma Lingke and the director of the workshop Wei Zongbo were afraid of potential personal loss in the future and, together with the Security Department of the plant, reported it to the police substation. They betrayed their morality and conscience in order to keep their positions. Therefore, Zhang Yunqing was captured. She is currently detained in the No.2 Detention Center in Zhenzhou City.
