(Clearwisdom.net) Currently, there are 42 male Falun Gong practitioners detained in Shenyang Dabei Prison Section #12 in Liaoning Province. Thirty-eight of them are unwavering Falun Dafa practitioners who refuse to give in to the evil. In spite of being tortured, with "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" in their hearts they still try to clarify the facts and expose the lies about Falun Gong to the prison guards and criminal inmates.

In order to force Falun Gong practitioners to give up their practice, staff members of the Shenyang Dabei Prison are using all means at their disposal, no matter how brutal. The prison guards use all kinds of cruel means to torture practitioners, such as electric batons, beatings, stabbing them with steel nails, having criminal inmates attack them, force feeding with salt water, sleep deprivation, etc.

Practitioner Song Guolin, 68, was detained in Shenyang Dabei Prison for 3 years. During his detention, Song Guolin always conformed to the universal principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance. In the beginning, the prison guards tried to force him to compromise with them. Facing these pressures, he used his own personal experiences of recent years in practicing Falun Gong to clarify the truth to those guards. Some guards thought what he said was right and thus never bothered him again. Some other guards would yell at Song, "The higher authority wants me to kill people, and I do as I am told." They tried to force Song to recite prison rules and sing prison songs, but he never complied. Song was illegally arrested and sentenced to 3 years of jail after July 20^th of 1999, simply because he participated in group practice in public. He also wrote letters to the prison officials to clarify the truth, expose the blatant lies and demand the right to practice Falun Gong and read Zhuan Falun (book of Falun Gong teachings). Later, he was sent to Brigade #2 to be monitored and controlled more tightly. Liang Wei, Chief of Brigade #2, was extremely cruel and abusive. He asked six criminal inmates to keep tight control of him. These criminals took turns torturing him with beatings, various other types of physical abuse, verbal abuse, and sleep deprivation.

Those villains forced Song to sit on a small "horse bench" [a torture device] from 6 a.m. until 10 p.m. If he could not keep in place during the sitting, two criminal inmates would force him to by pricking him with steel nails. He was tortured for almost 10 months. Song suffered the extreme agony of back pain and poor health due to the tortures, and could hardly walk without help. Even so, Song was trying hard to clarify the truth to those criminal inmates, telling them this principle, "Good is rewarded with good, and evil is met with evil."

Although practitioner Liu Mingjie has been illegally detained for more than one year in Shenyang Dabei Prison, he is still determined in the practice of Falun Dafa, and has never complied with the prison guards. Consequently, prison guards sent both Liu Mingjie and another practitioner, Jiang Hulin, to a brigade with a more tightly controlled environment. The first thing that the prison guards did was to force them to sit on the ground for long period of time. They forced them to assume a sitting position with a straight upper body and with both legs straight as well. They were forced to sit in this position from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. They were permitted to eat two meals a day and to relax their position a little at meal times. If they changed their posture at any other time, criminal inmates would prick them with steel nails. When they slept, four criminals would take turns watching them. Jiang Hulin was only allowed to lie on his side, facing the inmates. When Jiang Hulin changed his position in his sleep, they would force him to stay awake for the whole night.

After two weeks of torture, Jiang Hulin's health severely deteriorated. His legs were swollen and he was thin, nervous, confused and so physically weak that he was unable to walk. Guards knew that he was in an extremely bad condition. In order to conceal it from others, they detained him separately. Jiang Hulin never stopped insisting on studying Falun Gong books and practicing the exercises, and never stopped clarifying the truth and exposing the lies about Falun Gong to prison inmates. When some criminals were insulting Dafa and Teacher, he would solemnly demand that they stop. He never sang the prison songs and never recited prison rules. He just practiced Falun Dafa and behaved in an upright manner. Currently, he is still being tortured by the prison guards and inmates.

Other Falun Gong practitioners that are still being persecuted and held in the prison include Wu Haili, Lou Xinghua, Li Shangsi, Bai Mingsheng, Li Xianmin, and others. They have been tortured and beaten by the prison guards. In order to protest the persecution against practitioners, Li Shangsi, Bai Mingsheng and others went on a hunger strike. After Bai Mingsheng went on hunger strike for 16 days, he was sent to a hospital and tied to a bed. They forced the saline solution down his throat and struck him several times with high voltage electric batons, and tightly monitored the practitioner even during meals. All those who are determined to keep practicing Falun Dafa have suffered cruel tortures during their time in Shenyang Dabei Prison.
