A Swedish Practitioner Speaks at a City Council Meeting in Houston After the Chinese Dictator's Visit

(Clearwisdom.net) During Jiang's visit to Houston, Texas in late October, many Falun Gong practitioners came from all over the world. They demonstrated the beautiful and peaceful exercises and appealed to stop the persecution of Falun Gong in China. A few days after the Chinese dictator left the city, a Swedish practitioner gave a short speech at a City Council meeting in Houston, which was also broadcast live on local TV.

After the speech finished, the council members thanked him for coming all the way from Sweden, bringing the principle of Truthfulness Compassion and Tolerance. They also said that they understood why he decided to travel all the way to Houston for this.

It was then announced that in the next week, the Houston City Council is going to issue a proclamation of their support of Falun Gong, calling for an end of the persecution in China. The city secretary said that Houston is proud of being the first city that Li Hongzhi, the founder of Falun Gong, held a lecture on Falun Gong in America. Below is the speech.

"Dear Mayor, dear council members,

My name is Christian Nilsson. I'm a 22 years old student from Sweden in my third year of studying environmental engineering at the University of Technology in Lund. This is my second visit here to America. During these days, I've met many American people. I find them very open, kind hearted and honest. I'm very glad to be here and for the opportunity to talk about my experience of Falun Gong, a qigong and meditation practice from China based on Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance.

The reason I came to Houston is to show the peacefulness of Falun Gong during Jiang's visit here. I heard that such a beautiful and peaceful practice has been forbidden and persecuted in China: Tens of thousands of Falun Gong practitioners have been imprisoned, beaten, tortured, forced to flee from their homes, forcefully removed from their families and their jobs. And hundreds of good-hearted people have been tortured to death.

All of this is just because the head of China, Jiang, is personally jealous of the popularity of Falun Gong, with its several million practitioners all over the world. The Chinese propaganda states that, 'all countries around the world is supporting the persecution of Falun Gong in China.' When I heard this I felt a great responsibility to clarify the facts.

Falun Gong has taught me: Look at yourself, always try to consider others first and try to walk a righteous path. I believe that together we can end this persecution peacefully, by exposing the crimes in China. Coercion and violence cannot change people's hearts.

I would like to thank the American people and the American government for their great support of Falun Gong. Thank you for helping the good, innocent people in China. Thank you for your support of Truthfulness Compassion Tolerance, the basic human belief. Thank you for your attention, everyone."
