1. [Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province] Police Stage a Citywide Manhunt and Arrest a Number of Practitioners

In the evening of September 26, 2002, fully armed policemen from every police station in Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province, were dispatched to arrest Dafa practitioners. If no one answered the door, they would enter by force. More than 10 practitioners were abducted in such a fashion.

In addition to the four practitioners whose arrests were reported on Clearwisdom.net on October 1, the following people were also reported to be wrongfully arrested: Liu Yanyun (female), Tang Hongwei, Lao Geng, Da Li, Ma Shuhong (female), Chuang Wei (a non-practitioner), Li Guiqin (female).

2. [Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province] Chen Shaodu is Arrested Again by Police

On July 20, 2002, Chen Shaodu, a practitioner from Mazhang District, Zhanjiang City was arrested. He was imprisoned in a brainwashing center for over 30 days. Because his health deteriorated to a critical condition, the 610 Office, afraid to take responsibility for his death, allowed his family to take him home. After studying the Fa and practicing Falun Gong exercises, his health recovered. In September 2002, more than 20 hired thugs from the 610 Office in Mazhang District besieged Chen Shaoqing's home, broke down his door and windows and forcibly entered his home, and once again arrested him. (The 610 Office is an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political or judicial systems.)

3. [Laixi City, Shandong Province] Female Practitioner Zhu Lixin Arrested

On the 14^th day of the first month of the Chinese lunar year 2002, practitioner Zhu Lixin was arrested at a market for reportedly distributing Dafa truth-clarifying materials. She is currently imprisoned in a brainwashing center located on the Shangqing Branch Road in Qingdao City.

4. [Tonghua City, Jilin Province] Officials and Police of Tonghua Mineral Bureau Persecute Dafa Practitioners

Since March 2002, the public security section and all levels of the Party administration in the Tonghua Mineral Bureau have gone to practitioners' homes to harass them during the "sensitive" days (usually holidays and days leading up to political events) and tried to force them to write the so-called "guarantee statement." They also demanded that all employed practitioners be able to show the so-called "approval notes" [these notes are issued by public security section after the practitioners give up practicing Falun Gong] in order to receive their paychecks, otherwise, the practitioners would not get paid.

Because a retiree persisted in practicing Falun Gong, his retirement pension was cut off. He was then forced to leave home to avoid further persecution. His workplace demanded that his wife, a non-practitioner who is also retired, bring him back home. Because his wife did not follow their unreasonable request, her retirement pension was also suspended.

Recently, the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in this area has been escalating. The authorities tried to coerce practitioners into writing the so-called "five statements," promising to give up their practice and slandering Dafa.

5. [China] Mainland Dafa Practitioners Congratulate the Founding of the Japan Falun Dafa Association

The founding of Falun Dafa Associations outside of China in succession are serious blows to the evil old forces and have greatly encouraged practitioners in China. In the time leading up to the Fa rectifying the human world, practitioners in China will strive even harder to accomplish the sacred mission that history has bestowed upon us. We will follow Teacher in Fa-rectification and fulfill our vows that we made so long ago.
