(Clearwisdom.net) Recently, The lawless officials in Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province did not follow due process and secretly put Dafa practitioners on trial. Zhang Xingye, Zhang Zhong, Dai Zhidong and Li Hai were given sentences of 12 years and Jiang Derong received 7 years. The family members were not notified.

On the evening of April 18, 2002, Dafa practitioner Zhang Xingye from the Third Oil Extraction Facility was illegally arrested by police. He was savagely tortured, which caused him to walk with difficulty. Later on, he was sent to the detention center in Daqing City and illegally imprisoned. Now, he has been illegally sentenced to 12 years. His wife, Chen Xiuli was kidnapped around April 12 by the police from the public security sub-bureau in the Sa District of Daqing City; they wanted to find out Zhang Xingye's whereabouts. The police pierced her fingers with sharp bamboo skewers. Later on, she was sent to be detained at the drug rehabilitation center [these types of facilities along with mental hospitals have been enlisted in the campaign to persecute Dafa practitioners] in Harbin City where she was tortured further. Only a teenage daughter attending middle school is left at home and taken care of by her grandparents.

Dafa practitioner, Zhang Zhong, from Lahua, Rang District, Daqing City, was illegally arrested on April 18, 2002 and held in the detention center in Daqing City. He went on a hunger strike for more than five months to protest the illegal imprisonment. He became extremely weak. Eventually, only a few of his toes were left that had any kind of sensory perception. During the period of his detention, the police cruelly tortured him many times. His condition became critical. His parents made numerous attempts to get their son released. The police even told them: "We have orders from above, even if he should die, we will not release him." Recently he was also illegally sentenced to 12 years. His wife He Zhihong was sent to the Harbin Drug Rehabilitation Center illegally for two years of labor reeducation, because she did not renounce her belief in the universe's principle of "Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance."

Dafa practitioner Dai Zhidong from Daqing City Electric Power Company visited Dafa practitioner Yao Bin on April 19, 2002 and was illegally arrested by the police staking out at Yao Bin's house. (Yao Bin was arrested on April 18.) After being brutally tortured, he was sent to the Sa District Detention Center in Daqing City and illegally imprisoned. He went on a hunger strike for over two months to protest the illegal persecution. When his condition became critical, he was sent to the hospital. Because his family could not pay the hospital fee, the police did not give him any treatment. He was sent back to the Sa District Detention Center for further torture. Recently he was also illegally sentenced to 12 years.

Dafa practitioner Li Hai from the 64^th Middle School in Daqing City was illegally arrested on April 18, 2002 and held at the detention center in Daqing City. He went on a hunger strike for over forty days to protest the illegal persecution. Subsequently, he experienced kidney failure. His family members went to visit him several times. The police never let them see him. Recently he was also illegally sentenced to 12 years. When he was being arrested, the police from Rang District Public Security Sub-bureau and Chengxin local police station not only ransacked his home, but stayed there and waited for two days. During that time, his family members were not allowed to go outside. In order to resist the evil's persecution, his wife, Li Baozhu, also a teacher at the 64th Middle School in Daqing City, was forced to leave home and has been moving from place to place for more than one year. Only their son, a middle school student, was left at home with his grandmother with no means of support.

Dafa practitioner Jiang Derong was kidnapped by the police from his home in May 2002. When the police kidnapped him, they made up a story and told his neighbors that he wanted to kill his mother. Then in broad daylight, to spread further propaganda, they called in the fire brigade to break into the house through the window and abducted him and held him at the detention center in Daqing City. He was illegally sentenced to seven years.

Because the illegal trials are all conducted in secret, it is very difficult to know how many more Dafa practitioners were sentenced. In the past, the so-called courts when conducting illegal trials on Dafa practitioners had at least notified pro forma their family members, and allowed one family member to sit in. But now nobody knows, when or where the trials of Dafa practitioners are conducted, or what happens during the trial. We hope governments from around the world, the human rights organizations and people with a strong sense of justice can extend their concern to stop this persecution of good people, for whom it has become crime to believe in the universe's principle of "Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance."
