Worst Drought in 100 Years Plagues Shandong Province - Nine Million People Running Short of Grain
(Clearwisdom.net) According to China News Network's report on December 5th,
Shandong Province is experiencing a rare phenomena of the most severe drought in a hundred years.
Before the harvest season of next year, nine million people will face a severe grain shortage. [Please
note, Shandong Province is one of the largest provinces producing grain and other agricultural
products] The report stated that the big drought has severely impacted Shandong Province. Besides the nine
million who will face a grain shortage, 2.57 million people are running short on both food and
income. Some victims of the drought are already running out of grain, so that some have already
started to borrow grain from relatives. "When people do not have virtue, natural calamities and man-made disasters will abound. When
the earth does not have virtue, everything will wither and fall." ("When the Fa is
Right" from Essentials for Further Advancement) We hope people can think responsibly, and consider this wake-up call a karmic warning. Shandong
Province is also one of the provinces that persecute Falun Gong most severely. The first reported
death of a Falun Gong practitioner due to torture was Ms. Chen Zixiu, who was from Shandong Province
and whose story was reported in the Wall Street Journal. Editors' note: Throughout history, the theme that a nation's fate is closely tied to the virtue
of its leaders and people has been prevalent in both Chinese and Western
culture and lore. Many wise, virtuous rulers have led their nations to peace and
prosperity, while conversely, moral decay in high places has led to the downfall of great empires.
These articles are meant to serve as a reminder and wake-up call for those who are leading or
participating in large-scale acts of violence and injustice.
