The Torture I Endured at Jiangong Police Station in Yanji City, Jilin Province
(Clearwisdom.net) I am a 48-year-old Dafa practitioner. In early May of 2002, I was
kidnapped by the police from Jiangong Police Station and tortured for four days. Eventually I was
able to escape. The following is what I suffered in those four days. I was standing outside waiting for my friend when two policemen came up to me and asked for my
name. After I gave them my name, they forcefully took me away to Jiangong Police Station without
showing any legal documents. I was led to a room on the second floor of a building. They locked the
door, closed the curtains and cuffed my hands behind me. They then began to violently interrogate
me. They punched me, kicked me and tried different ways to torture me. One policeman found a book of
Teacher's lecture from overseas in my bag and demanded to know where the book came from. I refused
to tell him. At this, the police became angry and began beating me more fiercely. They put a plastic
bag over my head and tied it up tightly around my neck. This made it very difficult to breath. At
one point, they even put three plastic bags over my head until I lost consciousness. After I was
revived, they put the plastic bags on my head again and tortured me repeatedly until I fell
unconscious again; they repeated this several times. Sometimes, the policeman who smokes cigars
opened the bags over my head and blew in the smoke through a small opening. It was so terrible that
I choked and my eyes began to water. One policeman told the others to wait until my clothes were wet
with tears before removing the plastic bags over my head. When they were exhausted from beating me, they ordered me to squat down and stand up five hundred
times. I fell unconscious again after doing several of the repetitive movements. During the night,
they folded Teacher's pictures and put them on my head. A policeman stood beside me and, using a
stick, hit my head and shoulders, asking where the Dafa book came from. While they tortured me, I was forced to wear the plastic bags on my head at all times. It was
only until midnight when they decided to stop beating me and took off the plastic bags. The room I was in had no clock and I did not know what the time was. They locked me onto an iron
chair, a special instrument used to tie up criminals, and put shackles on my legs. They put
Teacher's picture on the chair and forced me to sit on it. At that moment, my heart was in agony
because I did not want to do it. They took turns watching me and did not allow me to sleep.
Sometimes five to six policemen watched me. They said brazenly, "We don't arrest those
criminals but only you Falun Gong practitioners." They tortured me in various ways. For example, they tied both my feet together by a thin rope and
hung me upside down. They also forced me to stand in a very painful posture: my head was bent down
until it could not go down any further, while the hands were pulled up and held up to the highest
point, and they also put heavy metal blocks on my neck. They also used batons to forcefully strike
my head and temples, causing my ears to bleed. When one policeman got tired from beating me, the
other would replace him and continue torturing me. Their director threatened, "If you still do
not tell us where the book came from, we will take you to a hill, dig a hole, throw you in, and pour
gas all over your body to set you on fire. Your family will have no clue at all about where you are.
And we will just tell those people that you set yourself on fire to reach consummation." The
director's words exposed part of the Jiang regime's evil plan to manufacture some sort of
"precedent" with the staged self-immolation on Tiananmen Square, and then using it
whenever practitioners were tortured to death by police. After two to three days, my legs became swollen and it was difficult to walk. The policemen then
used a different method on me. They prepared a bowl of instant noodle soup and brought it to me (I
had eaten nothing since they kidnapped me). They must have put in some sort of drug in the soup
because I felt dizzy after eating the noodles. Listening to their lies, I gave myself up to the
police. The policemen did not beat me again, and I fell into a deep sleep while sitting in the
chair. When I woke up, I realized what I had just done. I was so remorseful. Three days of the
police's brutal torture did not get to me, but one bowl of noodles had caused me to let my guard
down so easily: I gave them a practitioner's information and handed in Dafa books, which resulted in
the arrest and torture of that practitioner. I saw that her face and neck were swollen because of
the beatings she took from electric batons. What a terrible thing I had done to her and myself! It
is my attachment of fear that had been taken advantage by the evil forces. I determined that I could
not let them to persecute me any longer. I must leave this vicious place and expose the police's
torture of Dafa practitioners. Having this thought, I found my fear was gone and encouraged myself
to leave. Finally I found an opportunity and was free of them. Now, I am doing my best to make up for the
loss I had caused. Two months later, the Jiangong Police Station tortured practitioner Yang Zhongfang to death. In
fact, we know that Ms. Yang died on the second day after she was kidnapped by the police. We don't
know what the police had done to cause her death, but from how I had suffered under their custody, I
can imagine how terrible Ms. Yang's experience was before she had died. October 19, 2002 Posting date: 12/16/2002
