A List of Dafa Practitioners Being Detained or Sentenced

Chang Baoyu, male, 42 years old, was arrested in June 2000 while going to deliver Dafa truth materials in Jiaozuo city. He was illegally sentenced to four years in prison in May 2002.

Ma Yunxian, male, 64 years old, arrested for going to Tiananmen Square in Beijing to appeal. Due to severe torture he can no longer take care of himself, and was sentenced to four years in prison by the Hongqi district court of Xinxiang city.

Li Fujun, male, 37, a PhD of Henan Medical School, associate professor. He appealed to the government on April 25, and went to the Tiananmen Square to appeal in October 1999. He was sentenced to four years by the Xinxiang city suburban court.

Lu Yuzheng, female, 58. She went to Beijing to appeal on December 3, 2000, and was intercepted midway by policemen and escorted back, arrested and has been detained ever since.

Liu Rong, female, 58 years old. She went to Beijing to appeal in 2000. In 2002, she was arrested and has been detained ever since.

Lu Chunhua, female, 58 years old. She went to Beijing to appeal on December 3, 2000, and was arrested and has been detained ever since. She was tortured until she could not take care of herself, and her family members were told to carry her home in May 2002.

Lang Gaiqing, female. She went to Beijing to appeal on December 3, 2000, and was arrested and detained.

On October 28, 2002, policemen from the Xinhua public security bureau branch of Xinxiang city abducted Dafa practitioner Zhao Meizhen (female). Many other local Dafa practitioners were persecuted to various degrees.

On November 7, 2002, Dafa practitioner Zhao Tingyun (female) was arrested on her way to bring dinner to her husband. She was detained in the Xinxiang detention center. Police got the keys to her home in an illegal body search and then ransacked her home. A computer, some Dafa materials and books were taken away.

Policemen Chen, Liu Deshen and a temporary worker, Qin are the people who performed the illegal search.

Dafa practitioners Xiao Shujun, Wang Jiyao, and Yuan are also being detained at the Xinxiang Detention Center.

Currently the Dafa practitioners illegally jailed in the Xinxiang Detention Center are holding a hunger strike to protest the persecution. Zhao Tingyun (female) and some others have been on the hunger strike for 26 days. Policemen force-feed them with high concentration salt water to torture them. We hope that fellow practitioners will help them with firm righteous thoughts.

Other Cases of Persecution Inside the Xinxiang Administrative Region:

Guo Xiang, male, 62 years old, a resident in Yuanyang County. He practiced Dafa together with his seven children and grandchildren. They went to Beijing to appeal on December 3, 2000, and all but three of his children were arrested. In August 2002, Guo Xiang was illegally sentenced to 9 years, and his son Guo Xiaokui was illegally sentenced to 7 years.

Zhou Yanming, male, 37, also from Yuanyang county, a former battalion commander. He was discharged from the army because he insisted on practicing Falun Gong. He has been clarifying the truth of Dafa to people and was detained in July 2001 by the police. In September 2002, he was illegally sentenced to 9 years. His wife Cheng Jing, a 35-year-old doctor, went to Beijing to appeal in December 2000, and was illegally sentenced by the Yuanyang county court to 4 years, leaving their 8-year-old son and elderly father behind at home without care.

Dong Quanwen, male, 62 years old, a resident in Huixian city, went to Beijing to appeal for Dafa in December of 2000. He was illegally sentenced to four years in May 2002.

Cui Qinquan, 32, and Ren Fa, 29 (a university graduate), both are male and from Fengqiu county. They were illegally sentenced to jail in July 2000 for delivering Dafa truth materials.

Jin An, male, a Dafa practitioner from Yanjin County. He was illegally sentenced to jail in October 2000 for printing banners that say Falun Dafa is good.

Chang Xiushan, male, 49, was illegally sentenced to three years in a forced labor camp by the Hongqi district public security bureau branch of Xinxiang city.

An account by a Dafa practitioner from the Nanpinluo village, Xipinluo township, Huixian city: my mother and I went to Beijing to appeal for Dafa, and we were persecuted after going back home. In the township police station, police head Lang Guangjian hit me in the back with a stool, causing great pain. He hit my legs with sticks, causing my legs to swell up. I could not walk after the beating. They were even crueler to my mother, physically assaulting her in groups. Other Dafa practitioners in the same township were tortured in a similar way. Then they extorted 3000 Yuan [Chinese currency, the monthly salary for an average Chinese urban worker is about 500 Yuan] from us. My mother was sentenced to two years in a forced labor camp, while my term is one and a half years. While in detention, policemen and criminal inmates punched and shocked us with electric batons. They also slapped us in the face, tied us up, kicked us with boots, and stuffed rags into our mouths.
