Chatting On-line and Clarifying the Truth in English (Clearwisdom.net) [Editor's note: Western practitioners play unique, important roles in clarifying the truth to Western governments, organizations and media. Westerner practitioners are encouraged to do well in those areas first.] I went to a chat room and almost everyone chatting there was a Chinese person
in China. The main language used is English. That's right. We all know that
China has won the bid to host the Olympics in the year 2008. Well, the
government is trying to get people to become fluent in English.
Each time I chat it is a new, different and wonderful experience. I would
like to share a few samples.
The first time I logged on I talked with a woman who said that she is a
political science teacher. I asked her what she knows about Falun Dafa. She
said, "Much, I hate them." I asked her "Why?" She replied that she did not want
to talk about it and changed the subject. I said "OK."
We talked for a while more. She asked if I had heard of her city. I said that
I had heard a little about it. She asked where I had heard about it. I said,
"You said you don't want to talk about it." She said "No. I said I don't want to
talk about Falun Gong." I told her, "That's where I heard about it, on the
Internet." She said, "I know."
Before I signed off I said, "Please remember that Falun Dafa is good." That's
my understanding of doing things without pursuit.
Another time I was talking with someone, just chatting. While I was talking
with this person, he was also chatting with someone else. (You can see
everything that is said in the chat room and talk to more than one person at a
time.) He told the other person that he wanted to be a policeman. We talked for
a while and he asked me what time it was here in San Diego. I told him it was
11:00 p.m. He was surprised and asked me why I did not go to sleep. I told him
that I was going to sleep soon but I wanted to ask him something first. I asked,
"Why do Chinese policemen hurt Falun Dafa people." (It's best to use simple
words) He replied, "Do you do that?" I said, "Yes, of course." He immediately
asked me, "What is your address?" I told him I am in San Diego, California. We
talked for a while longer. He said that he read Zhuan Falun a long time
ago. He asked about Master Li. I said that he is the Teacher. We
talked for a while longer. He said, "I think you are a good person." I returned
the compliment. He said, "You do what you want," meaning that I should continue
to practice. During the conversation I was able to tell him that Falun Dafa is
practiced in over 50 countries and Zhuan Falun has been printed in more
than 20 languages. In the end he said, "It has been useful to talk to you
today."
Each time before I sign off I say, "Good bye everyone. Please remember that
Falun Dafa is good."
Each time you go you will meet different situations. It's a very good
cultivation environment. Each time I talk to someone they hear the truth. Some
don't like it but I'm always careful to do it with benevolence and forbearance.
Sometimes I send forth righteous thoughts while talking to them. Just keep your
eyes open and think of eliminating the evil around them. It really works quite
well.
I think it's important to remember a couple of things: 1) Chatting on line
can become habit forming and an attachment. Be aware of your thoughts at all
times. 2) Do not try to convince people that you are right and they are wrong.
That's the fastest way to make people resist the truth. Remember, their
environment is much different from ours. As Teacher told us, we should "Do, but
pursue not." ("In the Dao", Hongyin) Posting date: 12/19/2002
