Persecution of Falun Gong Practitioners Intensifies at Changlinzi Forced Labor Camp

(Clearwisdom.net) Since August 2002, Wanjia Women's Forced Labor Camp and Changlinzi Men's Forced Labor Camp in Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province have carried out a large-scale persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. Many practitioners have been persecuted to death. Around Oct 1 of this year, (China National Day), Changlinzi Forced Labor Camp illegally held about 150 Falun Gong practitioners.

Starting from September 8, 2002, Changlinzi Forced Labor Camp started an all-out persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. They forced practitioners to sign the "Three Statements" and force them to abandon their belief of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance. [Note: "Three Statements" are documents coerced under extreme pressure, torture and brainwashing, designed by the Chinese authority to ensure that detained Falun Gong practitioners are appropriately brain-washed. The statements consist of a letter of repentance, a guarantee to never again practice Falun Gong, and a list containing names and addresses of all family, friends and acquaintances of the detainee who practice Falun Gong. This system was concocted by the "610" office, an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems.]

The persecution started with the 4^th brigade of the Forced Labor Camp. They took away all the stools and ordered Falun Gong practitioners to squat in a small area. Whoever did not follow the orders was pushed to squat down. They also lied to practitioners saying that signing the "Three Statements" would give practitioners freedom to do whatever they want; however, if they do not sign, then "the only way is death." All persecutors in the Forced Labor Camp were not allowed to take days off, and they were put to work carrying out intensive brainwashing sessions. Falun Gong practitioners were forced to squat from 5 a.m. until 12 midnight. The next day, the Forced Labor Camp elevated the degree of persecution. They ordered criminal inmates to watch over Falun Gong practitioners. The prisoners would kick and beat up practitioners if practitioners did not squat properly. And the persecution gradually became even worse. The prisoners dragged practitioners to the warehouse and covered practitioners' heads. Several prisoners would hold down the practitioner and do the "pushing" [this is a cruel way of torturing, arms, legs and waist will be hurt. Prisoners also kicked practitioner's neck and kicked the chest very hard]. If Falun Gong practitioners still did not give in, they would be confined to "solitary compartment" ("Being confined in a solitary compartment" refers to locking up a single detainee in a solitary cell, which contains a basin and a pair of handcuffs. The basin is used both for face washing and relieving the urine and bowels. One end of the handcuffs is fastened the wrist and the other end is attached to the door railing. The handcuffs can be fastened onto the door railing at three different heights. In the highest position, the detainee has to extend his/her arm upward. The middle position is at waist level. In the lowest position, the detainee can sit on the ground.). The persecutors would hang up practitioners, shock them with electric batons, cover their heads and beat them, including hitting them in their private parts. The tragic cries from tortured Falun Gong practitioners were heard all the time through out the day and night in the vicinity of Changlinzi Forced Labor Camp.

On September 10, the forced labor camp formed a new brigade, the 5^th brigade. This brigade was specially established to persecute Falun Gong practitioners. They send Falun Gong practitioners who have refused to sign the "Three Statements" to the 5^th brigade to persecute them. The officials hang practitioner's by both hands from the bedside, swing practitioner's both legs back and forth, force practitioners to squat on their toes and forbid their heels to touch the ground. They also use needles to puncture the nails, trample the nails and toes. They do not allow practitioners to wash their faces, and only allow a very short time to use the toilet. They also do not allow practitioners to eat in the cafeteria. Once practitioners finish their meals in the lecture room, they immediately continue their "strict discipline" and all other different ways to torture Falun Gong practitioners.

At present this type of large scale of persecution that is happening in Changlinzi Forced Labor Camp is quite rare in China. The persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in Wanjia Women's Forced Labor camp is also extremely cruel. The illegally detained Falun Gong practitioners ask that the practitioners outside help to send forth righteous thoughts to eliminate all the vicious elements which exist in other dimensions that persecute Dafa and Falun Gong practitioners.

At the same time we appeal to all the kind-hearted people over the world to help to stop this inhuman persecution.
