By a practitioner in China

(Clearwisdom.net) At the end of October 2000, I clarified the facts to the students in my class, but was reported to the city police department. The police came to my school. The principal worried a lot, saying that I was the first in the city to clarify the facts about Falun Gong in classrooms, and that this had appalled the city directors. It was possible that I might be arrested. He urged me to promise to the city police that I would give up practicing. On the way to the security department of the school, my attachment of fear came up. What should I do? There was no way that I should compromise. When this thought occurred, my heart's tranquility was restored.

In the security department, the policeman yelled at me loudly as soon as I sat down. He spewed his illogical mixture of all the false charges against Falun Gong. At first I was worried, but soon I calmed down, and thought about how to guide him to hear and understand the truth. I turned a deaf ear to his ill remarks, cheerfully watching him letting off his evil mentality. My heart was very pure. After he finished giving vent, I peacefully explained to him how I started cultivating and how I had benefited both physically and mentally from the practice, and helped him to clearly see through the fabrications heard in the media.

He completely changed his violent approach, and gently calmed down. He asked me with interest if I could do a kind of meditation posture when my legs were double-crossed. I told him that I could. He said he had tried but failed. Originally, he was making a record, but suddenly he smiled with embarrassment and said, "I should not have followed your thoughts." I later learned that this was an extremely wild and cunning person, but his kindness had been revealed under my pure thoughts. The pure mind can rectify all that is unrighteous, just as Teacher says in "Further Understanding" in Essentials for Further Advancement, "What you do then, with a pure heart, will be the best and most sacred."

"The Fa can break all attachments, the Fa can destroy all evil, the Fa can shatter all lies, and the Fa can strengthen righteous thoughts." ("Drive Out Interference," Essentials for Further Advancement II)

In November 2001, I was kidnapped and taken to the local police station for having distributed Dafa truth-clarifying materials. Suddenly facing the evil, my heart pounded with all sorts of worries: fearing that my home would be searched and properties confiscated; that fellow practitioners who had gotten materials from me would lose their resource; that the school would know ... . The more I thought about these things, the more frightened I became. Suddenly, Teacher's words echoed in my ears: "Just by having your heart unaffected you will be able to handle all situations." ("Eliminate Your Last Attachments," Essentials II) and "One righteous mind can subdue one hundred evils." (Lecture 3, Zhuan Falun). "I am rooted in the universe. If anyone can harm you, he or she would be able to harm me. Put simply, that person would be able to harm this universe." (Lecture 1, Zhuan Falun). "As a Dafa disciple, everything of yours is formed by Dafa and is the most righteous, and it can only be that [you] rectify everything that is not righteous. How could you bow to the evil?" ("Dafa is Indestructible" Essentials II). "Indestructible righteous faith in the cosmos's Truth forms benevolent Dafa disciples' rock-solid, Diamond-Like Bodies, it frightens all evil, and the light of Truth it emanates makes the unrighteous elements in all beings' thoughts disintegrate. However strong the righteous thoughts are, that's how great the power is." ("Also in a Few Words" Essentials II). I repeatedly recited Teacher's Fa in my mind. My heart gradually calmed down. Righteous belief and righteous thoughts filled my mind. Facing the evil, I was able to remain confident and motionless. With reason, gentleness and a pure mind, I dissolved their hysteria.

I realized that at the moment when faced with tribulations, if one cannot be confident and motionless, one can recite Teacher's lectures because "The Fa can break all attachments, the Fa can destroy all evil, the Fa can shatter all lies, and the Fa can strengthen righteous thoughts. ("Drive Out Interference")
