By a Dafa practitioner in China

(Clearwisdom.net) Ever since I started to practice Falun Dafa in 1996, I have benefited both physically and mentally. I became healthy, and my moral standards improved. Dafa helped me to stop smoking and drinking and has let me better understand right and wrong. After I started to cultivate, a few people started coming to my house to practice. Later, my home became the local practice site.

On July 20, 1999, Jiang and his political group started to persecute Falun Dafa, and all media was used as their propaganda machines. Many police officers were ordered to start persecuting Dafa; it was as if the sky was falling. I did not understand such an action and wrote a letter to the Prime Minister, telling him the truth about Falun Gong and the benefits I have received over the past few years after practicing. However, after five days, catastrophe began. On the evening of October 5, somebody suddenly told me that the local police wanted to arrest me and told me to hide. I refused because I believed that the police were reasonable, and I have done nothing against my conscience during the past few years. However, I never thought that a government would be used to commit unlawful actions. On the evening of the 6^th, I was kidnapped and brought to the detention center. I asked the officer, Wang Ying, "Why are you putting me in detention?" The ridiculous reply from this "policeman who serves the people" was: "there is no need to tell you." When I was brought to the detention center, there were already many practitioners there. I saw that many female practitioners were forced to stand for long periods as punishment. There were elderly people with white hair and middle-aged women who filled five cells. I was placed in the sixth cell. A few days later, we started to go on a hunger strike in order to protest against such treatment, calling for our unconditional release. Two days later, police viciously beat us, and one officer hit me 20 to 30 times with a baton covered with sharp steel points. I was detained for 30 days.

Around 6 pm on October 31, 1999, I was brought to the Huludao Forced Labor Camp and sentenced to three years. At the labor camp, we were forced to sit on small stools in the hallway every day. It was very cold, and there was enormous mental pressure. Going to the toilet became our only freedom. One day in 2000, I was brought to the office of Yang, the head of the brigade, and he tried to threaten me get me to give up my cultivation practice. I was not moved, and in his frustration he slapped me in the face a few times and punched me so hard that I fell back onto the bed. My chest hurt for a few days. Later, we were forced to stand for the whole day.

On July 20, 2000, policeman Liu Jiawen forced my family members to brainwash me. Because I refused the brainwashing, Liu used electric batons to shock me. Later I was placed in the "strict group" where practitioners were forced to sit on the concrete floor during daytime.

One day in November 2000, policeman Liu Haihou handcuffed me from behind in front of all the other practitioners and took me away to torture. Officers like Wang Shengli and Zhang Fusheng surrounded me, holding electric batons, shocking and hitting me at the same time. They tortured me non-stop for two days and put me in solitary confinement. I was forced to sit or lie on the concrete floor for one week.

In September of 2001, four practitioners and I were taken to another team to do hard labor. When I refused to participate in this, policeman Liu Haihou ordered a criminal to slap me viciously and lashed me on the back with a belt several times.

Towards the end of 2001, I refused to be brainwashed. Once again, officers Liu Guohua, Wang Shengli and Zhang Fusheng used electric batons to hit and shock me, also kicking and punching me. A few other practitioners were tortured at the same time.

The above is only a little bit of what I have endured physically. The three-year persecution has made me suffer far more than this. Most of those cruel tortures cannot be expressed in words. However, the evil was unable to destroy my determination in cultivation but instead made me even more determined and value Dafa more.

In March 2002, female Dafa practitioner Xu Qingfang, a teacher from the Second Taihe District Secondary School in Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province was reported when she clarified the truth to her students. When the police came to arrest her, she was able to escape, and is now being forced to wander the streets to avoid further persecution. In May, she was kidnapped and brought back to the Jinzhou City First Detention Center after peacefully appealing in Beijing. Xu Qingfang is currently very physically weak and needs assistance even when walking. She even needs someone to hold her up when going to the restroom. There has been news that practitioner Xu has been secretly sentenced to five years in a forced labor camp. She is currently appealing the sentence.

During the Party's 16^th Congress, the Taihe District Police Sub-station in Jinzhou City of Liaoning Province started to frantically kidnap Falun Dafa practitioners whose names were on a blacklist. On November 2, in order to kidnap practitioner Dou Lanying (female), a worker from the Jinzhou City Nüerhe Textiles Factory, the Factory Security Department, Nüerhe Police Station and the Taihe District Police Sub-station all went to her mother's place to arrest her. Her mother lives at the Nanpiao District in Huludao City.

Recently, the Taihe District Court of Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province, unlawfully sentenced practitioners He Tao, Zhen Yanmei and Zhang Limei.
