Accounts of Persecution against Dafa Practitioners in Dalian City, Liaoning Province

Ren Haifei, male, 27 and Li Dan, female, 27 -- They are husband and wife. In March 2001, they were both arrested at home and the place where they prepared Dafa materials was also destroyed. Later, they were detained in Yaojia Detention Center in Dalian City, where they were subjected to brutal torture. In February 2002, both of them were sentenced secretly to 3 - 7 years' imprisonment (further details are currently unknown). There has been no news of them since they were sentenced.

Song Xiulian, female, 50 - In March 2001, she was arrested for printing Dafa materials, and later sent to Yaojia Detention Center. In February this year, she was sentenced secretly to 10 years' imprisonment.

Gu Xiaorong, female, 31 - She was a famous broadcaster and program host with the People's Radio Broadcasting Station in Dalian City before the year 2000. She was forced to resign for practicing Falun Gong. In early 2000, she was arrested for appealing in Beijing, and sent to the Dalian City Drug Rehabilitation Center [Falun Gong practitioners are commonly held in any facility with detention facilities], then later to the Yaojia Detention Center. At that time, her daughter was only two years old. In November 2002, she was again arrested for no apparent reason. At present, she is still illegally detained in the Yaojia Detention Center.

Lu Dedong, male 30 - He was arrested at the end of 2000 for compiling and printing Dafa materials. He had been detained in the Yaojia Detention Center and Dalian Labor Camp, where he was cruelly tortured. After his release in 2001, he was unable to return home and had to move from place to place to avoid further persecution. In November 2002, he was arrested again, and is now detained in the Yaojia Detention Center.

Wang Xiaoyan, female, 31 -- She was arrested at the end of 2000 for distributing Dafa material. She was first detained at the Yaojia Detention Center, then later in 2001, she was sent to the Masanjia Labor Camp to undergo brainwashing. While in detention, she was beaten badly by other inmates, and also mentally tortured. In October 2001, she was released to get medical treatment. However, she was still under police surveillance, frequently harassed, and her passport was confiscated as well. She is now forced to stay away from home to avoid further persecution.

Li Xuejin, male, 27 -- He was arrested in 2001 and was detained in the Yaojia Detention Center, Dalian Labor Camp and Guanshan Labor Camp where he was severely tortured. His whereabouts are currently unknown.

Sun Lucao, male, 45 -- He was the First Officer of an ocean liner. Since 1999, he had been arrested and illegally detained many times for going to Beijing to appeal for Dafa. He was cruelly beaten during his detention. At present, his whereabouts are unknown.

Lu Kaili, male, 30 - In early 2000, he was sent to Masanjia Labor Camp where he was brutally tortured. He was sentenced illegally in 2001, and after completing his sentence, he was again sent to Dalian Labor Camp to be persecuted further until he renounced his belief. Six months later, he was sent to the Guanshan Labor Camp again. All along, he refused to renounce his belief. At present, his whereabouts are not known.

Sun Yan, female, 30, wife of Lu Kaili - After her arrest, she was detained in the Yaojia Detention Center. While being detained, she went on a hunger strike to protest the brutal treatment she received. Her life was in grave danger before they released her. Later she was again arrested, and tortured by various means. Her present condition is unknown.

Wang Zhiyong, male, 32 -- He was illegally detained several times in Yaojia Detention Center. Later, he was locked up in Dalian Labor Camp, where he was cruelly tortured. After being transferred to the Guanshan Labor Camp, his present condition is unknown.

Tang Qiaoyun, female, 60 - She was arrested on July 20, 1999. After her release in 2000, she had been under surveillance.

Meng Hua, female 40 -- She had been arrested many times, and her present condition is unknown.

Chen Xin, male, 29 - Twice, he was arrested illegally. His present whereabouts are not known.

Liu Yunmeng, male, 30 - He was illegally arrested several times and his present condition is unknown.
