Sending Forth Righteous Thoughts and Clarifying the Truth of Dafa at the Same
Time
In the article "Righteous Thoughts," Teacher Li said, "Dafa disciples are now
sentient beings' only, sole hope for salvation. So, in order to do Fa-rectification
more effectively, while you clarify the facts you have to take sending righteous
thoughts very seriously, and in a timely manner purge the evil and your own
problems so that you won't be taken advantage of by the evil."
During our recent trip to Mexico, we emphasized sending forth righteous
thoughts at a close range. Although we had different opinions concerning the
appropriate interval between sending forth righteous thoughts, we put our
disagreements aside and tried to be cooperative and kind to each other. We also
emphasized the quality of sending forth righteous thoughts, and let every Dafa
practitioner make his or her own choices. All of our activities are open to the public. Sending forth righteous
thoughts in public is a validation of Dafa. The fact that 200 Dafa practitioners
came to Mexico from all around the world revealed the seriousness of the
persecution inside China. The peaceful appeal also showed the purity and
tranquility of Dafa practitioners to people. The righteous thoughts eliminated
the evil factors in other dimensions. Clarifying the truth of Dafa is aimed at
people in this world, and it also has effects in other dimensions. No wonder someone said that during the time we were in Los Cabos, all things
favored Falun Gong, including the weather, the location, and the people that
were there. Delegations and leaders from 21 countries attended the APEC
(Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation) meeting. It was a precious opportunity to
show the world, especially the Chinese delegation, the demeanor of Dafa
practitioners. The place chosen for the appeal was ideal, as all traffic to the
airport had to pass by the location. The banners reading "Falun Dafa", and "Stop
Persecuting Falun Gong" could be seen from a kilometer away. The Mexican people
are very kind-hearted, and they resisted the pressure from the Jiang regime
after find out the truth of Falun Dafa and the persecution in China.
At 8:30 am on October 28, 2002, several cars and vans carrying members from
the Chinese delegation passed by the appeal site. Many people attending APEC saw
the peaceful, righteous appeal by the Dafa practitioners, and many showed their
support by making a "V" hand sign or honking their car horns.
Some of us were clarifying the truth of Dafa to people, while others were
quietly sending forth righteous thoughts.
During the APEC meeting, many of the world media focused on Los Cabos. Dafa
practitioners organized three press conferences to introduce Falun Gong and the
persecution against Falun Gong in China, which were widely reported. The husband
of Yoko Kaneko from Japan was there. A separate news conference was held to
explain the lawsuit against Jiang. Major news agencies including AP, Reuters,
and AFP flocked to interview the Falun Gong practitioners. Ms. Zhang Cuiying and
Dai Zhizhen from Australia were also there. By talking about their personal
suffering, they exposed the cruelty of the Jiang regime's persecution of Falun
Gong.
October 27 was the last day of the APEC meeting. Some practitioners kept
sending forth righteous thoughts at the Yellow Monument, others held banners on
the roadside where Jiang's car would pass. Because of the small number of
people, "lunch" was eaten at 5 pm, but nobody complained.
At around 7 pm, a lady from the Chinese delegation came to talk with the
Mexican police. She appeared to be urging the police to make us leave, but the
police did not comply.
That evening, to avoid detection, Jiang seemed to want to create the illusion
that he had left, as there weren't even any guards at the Chinese delegation's
hotel.
Although we had been exposed to the hot sun for a whole day, we lined up
along the road and sent forth righteous thoughts quietly without being disturbed
by the superficial phenomena. People in the passing vehicles waved or honked to
show support.
At 9 pm, several Mexicans arrived in high spirits to learn Falun Gong, and
some local residents came to have their pictures taken with us. To guarantee the
quality of sending forth righteous thoughts, we decided that some people would
stay outdoors for the whole night, while others would return to hotels to rest
and send forth righteous thoughts from there. The Dafa practitioners thought
nothing of the hardships they had endured. Some came to Mexico right after
having taken part in the Chicago and Houston events. At least one Dafa
practitioner changed his flight from October 27 to 28 so that he could stay for
an extra day.
Although the daytime temperatures in Los Cabos are very high, they drop
dramatically at night.
At midnight, most of the policemen went to their cars to rest; Dafa
practitioners simply slept on the ground while taking turns sending forth
righteous thoughts.
At 7 am, Mexican policemen went back to the streets again. Then two Chinese
officials talked to the policemen, and seemed to be asking for us to be removed,
but police did not respond to this demand either.
At 8:30 am, cars and vans full of members from the Chinese delegation slowly
drove past our banners showing "Falun Dafa is good" and "Stop the persecution to
Falun Gong" as well as about 100 Dafa practitioners.
At 9 am, policemen closed the road to the airport. Some Dafa practitioners
took the "Falun Dafa is good" banners to the part of the road that Jiang had to
drive past. We didn't use any violence, what we had were pure, tranquil and kind
hearts, along with the determination to stop the persecution.
We remembered that at around 5 pm on October 25, during Jiang's arrival,
Mexican police allowed two big buses to prevent our banners from being seen. On
the evening of October 27 and on the morning of October 28, the Chinese
delegation twice pressed the Mexican police to make us leave. However, the
policemen didn't yield to the pressure after seeing the peaceful and orderly
Dafa practitioners exposed to the hot sun during the day and the cold at night
over the past days. At 9:15 am Jiang's motorcade rushed to the airport driving
in the wrong direction on a one-way road. Both the police and the bystanders
were surprised by this action.
After Jiang left, we still kept sending forth righteous thoughts. Mexican
police officers and local residents flocked to ask us for Dafa materials.

Later, many Dafa practitioners went to the airport to board their flights.
Our plane was late, so we sent forth righteous thoughts and used the time to
explain the truth of Dafa to people. One Japanese person who had attended APEC
asked for details about Falun Dafa, and some Dafa practitioners from Japan gave
him information about Dafa and the persecution. One APEC attendee was a lady
from Washington DC. She said she lived very close to the Chinese embassy in DC
and saw our Dafa practitioners almost every day.
On the plane, some practitioners met a reporter from a Chinese TV station. He
said, "We all saw you, I took a lot of Falun Gong video footage." He also said,
"In Houston, Jiang's motorcade drove on a road for garbage trucks to avoid
seeing Dafa practitioners." We began boarding the plane. When we saw the sun-tanned faces of Dafa
practitioners, when we recalled the efforts of the Dafa practitioners that
arrived early, and tried hard to clarify the truth of Dafa and pave the way for
later, when we saw the change in the Mexican people after learning the truth
about Dafa and resisting the pressure from the evil, we all felt the power of
Dafa.
