(Clearwisdom.net) Only 35 years old, a capable young man in good shape named Lan Hongyu died after 15 days of horrifying torture.

On the morning of June 2, 2001, Falun Dafa practitioner Lan Hongyu was arrested by police from Shimen County substation, Hebei Province. He was not given any evidence or reason for his arrest. He was transferred to Pingan hotel inside the southern yard of Zunhua City Detention Center. Ten days later, Lan's relatives were notified by Wang Chunzhan, the Party Secretary of Pingan County, to immediately come and take him. However, on June 11, officials of Pingan County, Xu Lanming and Liu Fusheng were notified to take Lan Hongyu back, but they dared not to when they saw that he was already unconscious. They then told his relatives to take him home.

When Wang Chunzhan led Lan's relatives to the detention center, they saw that Lan's arms and legs were handcuffed to the four corners of an iron bed. He was not responsive, and the only indication that he was still alive was a faint heart beat. His family brought him home and took him to Beijing for treatment on June 15. On the morning of June 16, he was pronounced dead in the Beijing Emergency Rescue Center. Lan's mother, who was detained in a brainwashing class, was not told of her son's death. Police were ordered to secretly take the elderly woman to her daughter's home.

Why should a healthy young life be cut short like this for no reason? Where are the human rights? Where are the laws and justice? Since July 20, 1999, the persecution of Falun Gong by Jiang's regime has escalated over time. "Beating people to death means nothing, or could be counted as committing suicide." Such an order was passed down by the 610 office [an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems] to all levels of government and police. It is so hard to believe, but the bloody facts are right before our eyes.

An autopsy report revealed that Lan's death was caused by severe beatings:

• necrosis of the left temple brain tissue
• hemorrhagic necrosis and edema of deep brain tissue
• blood clots
• medullar and cerebellar herniation
• elevated blood HCl

In conclusion, the man died from cerebral blood vessel rupture and bleeding, which caused massive brain tissue necrosis. The resulting herniation of the cerebrum and medulla led to respiratory failure.

This leads to the conclusion that Lan Hongyu died because of extensive beating and torture, and the personnel in Zunhua City's government, 610 office, Politics and Security Department, Detention Center are responsible.

Good will be rewarded with good and evil will be punished. History will restore Falun Dafa's reputation and hand down justice for Lan Hongyu and other practitioners being persecuted.

Because Lan Hongyu's case was exposed on Clearwisdom.net, the Zunhua City government in Hebei Province was furious and scared. In order to find out how the information was released, they arrested Lan Hongyu's brother, Lan Hongbo, a non-practitioner, and held him for two days. Lan Hongyu's mother was forced to leave home and go from place to place to avoid persecution.

Here we seriously warn the Zunhua City government: Your savage acts will surely receive heavenly retribution! Good will be rewarded with good and evil will meet with evil. If it does not happen now, it will surely happen in the future. Stop the persecution of Lan Hongyu's relatives and all Dafa practitioners, immediately investigate which people are directly responsible for Lan Hongyu's death, punish them by law, and give people justice!
