Houston Falun Gong Practitioners Express Support to Western Practitioners by Holding Press Conference in front of Chinese Consulate

(Clearwisdm.net) On February 14, 2002, over 40 Western Falun Gong practitioners from around the world held a peaceful appeal on Tiananmen Square to call on the end of the persecution against Falun Gong practitioners. Houston practitioners were moved by their courage and took action immediately by sending related information to Chinese and English media.

At 6:00 p.m. on February 14, 2002, the practitioners held a press conference in front of the Chinese Consulate and read out a statement in both Chinese and English appealing to all people to pay attention to this event, to help end the Jiang regime sponsored terrorism and to request China to release all Western practitioners immediately. Later, the practitioners sent forth righteous thoughts and practiced the exercises.

As it was on the after work rush hour traffic, many people and cars passed by. The passersby expressed their support to Falun Gong. One middle-aged American man living nearby said, "I take a walk often and see your practicing in front of the consulate each time, very peaceful. A few days ago, I watched TV and learned that two Western Falun Gong practitioners had been arrested for unfurling a banner on Tiananmen Square. Going to Tiananmen means one's life can be in danger and even death. I know it is a human rights issue. I called the Chinese Government but was ignored. So I can only express my concern to the US government." When he knew one day later, 30-40 western Falun Gong practitioners were brutally mistreated on Tiananmen Square and arrested, he was shocked. He requested information and said that he would let his family and friends know the truth of Falun Gong.

Today, many passersby requested information and some said that they would call government officials to ask them to support Falun Gong and help the end of the long persecution. More and more kind-hearted people came to know the true facts regarding the persecution of Falun Gong and support Falun Gong.
