The Cruel Persecution of Falun Dafa Practitioners in the Yanbian Korean Autonomous Region, China

(Clearwisdom Net) Recently, a practitioner who was released from jail told me that the political security police in some areas of the Yanbian Korean Autonomous Region were using a variety of torture methods to persecute Falun Dafa practitioners. The vicious policemen were extremely savage, making the practitioners collapse both physically and mentally.

For example, while torturing female practitioners, these wicked policemen handcuffed or tied their hands separately in opposite directions [spreadeagle], also tying up their feet before forcing them to sit on Teacher's picture. The practitioners were heartbroken and choked with tears. The vicious policemen made changes to their methods from time to time such as tying a practitioner's hands to the heating pipes high up, and then forcing her to step on the picture placed on the ground. During tortures which usually lasted one or two days or even longer, police officers yelled as they tormented the practitioners, "Our purpose is simply to crush you both mentally and physically," without a single trace of humanity.

In Hunchun City, Jilin Province, vicious policemen handcuffed the practitioners' hands behind their bodies and raised their arms up high, then hung 25kg (about 55lb) weights on each practitioner's neck. Next they forced the practitioners to step on pictures of Teacher and to renounce Falun Gong by claiming to quit the practice. The abusers shamelessly cursed, "We have more than enough ways to torment you. We'll continue holding you like this, so all of you will die of uremia." (Note: A toxic condition resulting from kidney disease in which there is retention in the bloodstream of waste products normally excreted in the urine.) This is the so-called "Help to change by persuasion" directive propagated on the Party's newspaper.

The wicked people identified a female practitioner from Tumen while she was giving out truth-telling materials in the Longjing district. The cops rushed to her location, and wantonly beat her beyond recognition. She was covered with cuts, massive amounts of bruises, and also lost three teeth. One witness said that a vicious cop kicked the wind out of the forty-year old female practitioner. After being taken to the political security station, she was again badly beaten during three days' interrogation. Her hands were kept handcuffed behind her back even when going to the bathroom.

Falun Dafa practitioners were tortured in another way: abusers tightly handcuffed the practitioners' hands behind their backs, with one arm placed up over one shoulder and the other one down by the lower back, then they raised the handcuffed hands to hang the body and swing them in circles. Sometimes the abusers handcuffed the practitioners' hands behind their backs and to a door and then dragged them around; sometimes the abusers made the practitioners squat down after being handcuffed in different ways, then they stepped on the handcuffs or kicked them, calling the torture "Dancing Ballet," which kept moving the handcuffs up and down like a knife, cutting out lots of flesh around the wrists. The practitioners' hands were still numb for long time after their hands were removed from the handcuffs.

During the interrogation, practitioners were not allowed to sleep and were without food or water for days. Instead of questioning, the perpetrators exerted physical and mental torture on the practitioners by forcing some of the practitioners to stand still with their hands hung for days.

The above are just several examples of the torture of female practitioners that I heard about.

In the 2001 Canada Falun Dafa Cultivation Experience Sharing Conference, Teacher said, "All the methods employed by the evil political gang of scoundrels in the Chinese government are the most despicable, the most evil, and unknown to history--they have reached the extreme, they've really outdone themselves.
