After declaring Falun Dafa Day in various parts of China, Falun Dafa practitioners throughout the country have formed a stronger coalition. They are engaged in comprehensive efforts to effectively clarify the truth. Besides unfurling numerous banners to the surprise of the evil forces, practitioners in various regions have increased their study of the Fa and further focused on sending forth righteous thoughts. Practitioners have taken opportunities to clarify the truth to people as each opportunity arises, and they assisted individuals in accessing additional materials about Falun Gong. The evil forces have been caught off guard because of these righteous attitudes and spontaneous actions, which also avoided unnecessary and unjustified detention. These activities effectively supported Falun Dafa, intimidated the evil, and helped the public to learn the truth.

On the afternoon of February 2, 2001, Yunshan County Government, Political and Judiciary Committee, together with the Police Department launched a coordinated pre-planned campaign, with specific people responsible for designated sections in the county, to unjustly search Falun Dafa practitioners' homes, one by one. Books, truth clarifying literature and pictures related to Falun Dafa were all confiscated, causing significant loss to some practitioners. The villains arrived in trucks with an alleged "Statement of Guarantee" as printed by government agencies [a statement denouncing Falun Gong which they would attempt to force practitioners to sign.] Any practitioner who refused to sign their name was immediately arrested. Each practitioner was also fined 3000 Yuan RMB, and in many cases private property was confiscated. [The average monthly salary of an urban worker is about 500 yuan.] One practitioner had a portrait of Teacher confiscated and was fined eight sacks of peanuts (over 661 pounds). Another practitioner threw junk into a clay pot that was used as a spittoon, which was loaded into the truck by the villains. Before they left, these rogues scorned the innocent practitioners and said, "Look how poor you are!" The only reason they brought trucks with them was to loot the homes of Falun Dafa practitioners.

Recently, in a neighboring township, a practitioner's home was ransacked and the villains confiscated an entire year's peanut crops stored by the practitioners. Because the peanut crop was their only source of income, they were ultimately forced to leave their home and become homeless. Another practitioner was unjustly sentenced to forced labor camp, and the windows and doors of their home were removed and confiscated by authorities.

On February 2, 2002, Yang Binghai, a worker of Fengshan Mine, in the Changping District in Beijing, learned when he got off work, that his wife had been taken away by the police. He went to Songyuan Police Station to ask for the release of his wife, but was only told that his wife had been sent to a brainwashing class. They refused to tell him the location or length of the class. When Yang went the next day to again ask for the release of his wife, he was held in custody. According to sources within the "610 Office" [an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems], a brainwashing session is to be held both before and after the Chinese Lunar New Year's Day. Those who refuse to be "transformed" in the first session are subjected to a year of forced labor, and those who refuse to be "transformed" in the second session are subjected to three years of forced labor. We ask that kind hearted and interested people around the world join the international human rights organizations in appealing to authorities to change the evil acts in the Changping District of Beijing.

The police took several practitioners away from their homes on the night of February 2, 2002, in the Changping area of Beijing. This intensive police activity is part of a "Dragnet" prior to the Chinese Lunar New Year's Day. However, some police officers did not arrest individuals immediately upon receiving leads, but rather, set up surveillance and waited for a period of time before taking action. Yu Manchang is the Director of the Fushun Shuncheng 610 Office [a bureau specifically created by the Chinese government to persecute Falun Gong that has absolute power over each level of administration in the Party, as well as over the political and judiciary branches.] He has illegally sentenced many practitioners to forced labor camps. When the life of Falun Dafa practitioner Qin Yuanhui was in danger, while she was in Wujiabao Detention Center, Yu took this opportunity to extort money from her family. Because he failed to achieve his purpose, however, he stubbornly refused to release Qin Yuanhui. Qin's life is in extreme danger, but Yu does not take it seriously at all. Yu now cares only for his personal gain in persecuting practitioners who are detained in the No.2 Hospital and at the Wujiabao Detention Center.
