Persecution Causes Recurrence of Diseases

(ClearWisdom.net) Before July 20, 1999, more than 50 practitioners came to our public exercise site regularly to study the Fa and practice the exercises, rain or shine. Through practicing, many practitioners were able to get rid of their diseases and became healthy and full of vigor. However, since Jiang's regime began the persecution of Falun Gong, many have suffered grievously.

Under the cruel persecution, some practitioners do not dare to continue practicing Falun Gong. Their xinxing [the nature of the mind or the heart, moral character] level thus dropped down, and consequently their health deteriorated as their illnesses returned. Some were even worse than before because of the new psychological pressure. Within one year, two former practitioners at our practice site passed away, and still more elderly people are now suffering from various diseases. For example, a man more than 70 years old was very healthy when he was practicing Falun Gong, and he often told others that practicing made his heart bright and clear. However, because he feared Jiang's persecution and did not want to bring trouble to his children, he gave up the practice. Shortly after he stopped practicing, he developed illnesses so severe that he cannot walk normally and has to rely on canes to move around.

Another man is currently more than 80 years old. When he was practicing Falun Gong, he had upgraded his xinxing level very quickly. After he stopped practicing, all of his old illnesses returned. He is now confined to a wheelchair and suffers greatly.

There are many elderly people with similar experiences. An elderly person said, "All of my illnesses were gone through practicing Falun Gong, but now this is not allowed. I have a pension of only 50 Yuan (Chinese currency, the average monthly income of an urban worker is 500 Yuan) per month, which barely covers the expense for food. Where can I find the money for doctors and medicine? How can I survive now?"

I really cannot help but ask Jiang, "Why have you utilized every means at your disposal to keep us from practicing Falun Gong? It is practicing Falun Gong that helped us elderly people to rebuild our morality and to consider others' welfare first. We recovered our health and led a happy life. Now, you forced us to stop our practice, while you don't do not take care of our medical needs. What do you want to do? Do you still have any human conscience left? You always say that you look out for the people's best interests, but do you count more than 100 million Falun Gong practitioners as people? How about their families and relatives? With so many people, what do you plan to do with all of them? Are you watching out for the best interests of the people?"

All of my fellow practitioners, let's eliminate the evil interference, treasure this rare opportunity for cultivation, and take each step steadfastly during Fa-rectification.
