US National Press Club Holds Special Press Conference for Falun Gong

On February 22, the Morning News group of US National Press Club (NPC) held a special press conference for Falun Gong. The topic of the conference was "US Falun Gong Practitioners Were Savagely Beaten and Illegally Detained". David Martin of NPC hosted the conference. Falun Gong spokesperson Zhang Erping gave an overview of the reasons that lead to the peaceful appeal by western practitioners on Tiananmen Square. He stressed that Falun Gong is not just China's issue but an international issue as well. He also called upon the US and the world to pay more attention to the brutal persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China. Falun Gong practitioners Scott Chin and Brian Maple shared their personal experiences of being beaten and illegal detention during their stay in China. They emphasized that they did not violate any Chinese laws, nor were they against the Chinese government. They just wanted to let more Chinese people know that Falun Dafa is good and appeal to the Chinese government to stop the persecution of Falun Gong.

The conference was successfully concluded after the practitioners took questions from the participating media.
