To celebrate the first anniversary of Minghui School and express their appreciation of the support of the Chinese community, Washington DC practitioners held a large scale Chinese New Year party. Over 200 people attended the event.

The Minghui School in Washington DC is the first school established by Falun Gong practitioners. The sole goal of the school is to teach "Zhen-Shan-Ren" to students. The classes are open on the weekend, and the main textbook is Zhuan Falun. Also the five sets of exercises are taught. All teachers are practitioners that volunteer their time.

Similar schools have been established in Canada, Australia and especially Taiwan. It is expected that soon a full time Minghui School will start in Taiwan.

Representatives from the Chinese community spoke at the party and highly praised the contribution of Falun Gong practitioners and Minghui School to the Chinese community.

Following the speeches, students and practitioners performed singing and dancing for audience.
