New York Dafa Practitioner

The 2002 Greater New York Area Falun Dafa Cultivation Experience Sharing Conference was held in the Hilton Hotel, Manhattan, New York on February 1, 2002. Over 1,300 Chinese and Western Falun Gong practitioners from the US, Canada, Taiwan, Sweden, Britain, Germany, Australia, Hong Kong and other places attended the conference.

At noon, when the moderator read the congratulatory letter from our great benevolent Teacher, the entire audience applauded warmly.

In the afternoon, the moderator read the resolution just passed in the New York State House of Representatives, which condemned the Jiang regime's persecution of Falun Gong in China and praised Falun Dafa and Master Li.

All of the audience treasured the gathering. A total of 16 practitioners shared their various experiences in clarifying the truth and assisting the Teacher in Fa-rectification. Two western practitioners who participated in the Tiananmen appeal last November and a Canadian mother who sang "Falun Dafa is good" on Tiananmen Square last week also shared how they experienced improvements in xinxing after participating in Fa-rectification activities. One practitioner recounted his experience of clarifying the truth of Falun Gong to US companies. Many western practitioners narrated their experience of stepping forward for Dafa work and breaking through levels by studying the Fa. Some practitioners described how doing Dafa work tempered their xinxing. A practitioner who had just come from China shared his experience of guarding the Fa fearlessly when facing persecution. Some practitioners introduced how they promoted the Fa and clarified the truth while commuting to and from work and in New York subway stations. A New York practitioner and a practitioner/representative from New Jersey talked about promoting Dafa and clarifying the truth to the US government. A New York Chinatown practitioner shared experiences on speaking the truth to the Chinese people. A little practitioner presented a poem, "Great Fa:"

The great Fa removes an everyday person's old shell,
Lets the true self shine,
With Dafa, practitioners can navigate in storm,
In dark ocean swiftly move forward,
To complete their hard and enlightening course again.

After the speeches, nearly 40 western practitioners stepped up to the stage and sang, "Falun Dafa is good" in Chinese. Before the coming of the traditional Chinese New Year, all the practitioners at the conference extended a New Year's greeting to our most respected Teacher with one voice.

The 2002 Greater New York Area Falun Dafa Cultivation Experience Sharing Conference was concluded with the greeting of over 1,300 practitioners: "Master Li, Happy New Year!"
